Gibbs has three SB victors and they did not come by having the inability to evaluate tallent. I know people will point to Mark Brunell but I have to give Gibbs breake on that chioce and I think he learned his leason. If Gibbs thinks Cambell was worth the picks we gave up and this was the only way we thought we could obtain Cambell than its ok with me.

Gibbs wasn't GM before. While he did evaluate talent in the sense of whom he chose to be his starting qb, he wasn't really responsible for drafting players. Hopefully he's right about this one, but unlike you I am not willing to give him a break on Brunell.

I do not know this Doctor Cheeks but, I am not impressed with his opinion. He seems to ramble a bit. No interest really.

For those of you that expected to be the Skin's Super Bowl contender last year, WAKE UP. While I would have like for it to have happened, not realistic in any parallel dimension. Since it was announced last year that Gibb's would take the team back, I am not aware of any statement he has made other than this philosophy. he would work to restore the Redskins to former Glory form. In many statements has he alluded to a multi-year time frame to achieve. He often refers to the "building" process. At no time that I am aware does he refer to overnight, or temporary results. He is a proven builder like few others and will achieve this again with the Skin's. At the end of that tenure, I'm sure my man Greg gets the team!

And I'm sure he will have learned some lessons from one of the best!

I'm sure that GW has a bias, but sometimes it's just the way people say things lets you know just how honest they are being.

Say Campbell played crappy or adequate, Williams might have said something like, "He played great."

I like the fact that he went into detail about him, citing very specific examples of good things he has done in camp. I wouldn't think Williams would spit that kind of bullshit out on the fly.

That's a good point MC.

There are many sports columnists who look for anything that gives them a chance to write an opinionated article about. Ripping people gets more attention than an intelligent consideration of the facts, or a fair minded analysis.

Williams' comments are remarkable, and confirm the thoughts of some people that we have a real jewel in Jason Campbell.

We are all pretty much assuming that Ramsey will be the starter next season, but a lot can happen between now and then. I would not be surprised if by some time next season, Campbell is the starting quarterback of the Redskins.

It's nice to hear those things about a player in practice, but understand this I could stand in there during a practice and fire the ball all over the place on the money without having to worry about a rush or having to read a defense. Playing QB is about football smarts PERIOD! I don't care how strong your arm is it's meaningless when it comes to the mental aspect of the game, does it help to have both? You bet ya, but if you only have 1 and it's not the mental part, good luck! I really hope he has the head for it but we will never know during a mini camp or even pre-season, the real confusion starts with the regualr season.

The only thing wrong with that assessment is: what other point of reference does GW have to base his opinion on? I don't think he made any assertions that Campbell will quickly find his way into the starting lineup. I just think that he saw that Campbell is more than just a Brunell-like screwup.
