Love it....gotta' let Philly or whoever think he is our guy
If we know it is a smoke screen pretty sure Philly does too.

I seen a theory somewhere(ES/Twitter I think) that the Raiders had this leaked to drum up more interest for the #4 pick.

We don't. See John Clayton where he categorically proclaims that if available at #5, we take him...........

And if Mariota has been Kellys Holy Grail all along he cant afford to shrug it off.
I take the 1st round swap and their 2nd and 4th.

What if Chip wants to get Mariota by trading Bradford...to us?

Example:
Philly gets pick # 5

We get pick #20
Sam Bradford
Jason Kelce or Brandon Graham or Zach Ertz / their #2 pick

Maybe he also wants Alfred Morris... Lots of 1st and 2nd round picks he wants to trade all for his boy and Alfred Morris.

There is currently more smoke than in Cheech's 64 Impala.

Do you think we would get that much for the 5th? I could see a swap of firsts and Bradford.

Maybe not. Just musing. But 20th to 5th is a huge jump and Chip REALLY wants to make that jump, so no matter what, we should fleece them.

For our side, what if RGIII '15 looks like RGIII '14? We'll need a starter.

If Mariota is there - I believe the Redskins should and will take him. Consensus from draft scouting experts is Mariota is a top 10 player on their big boards.

The only thing that prevents this is - the investment in RGIII. Here's the best thing to do to get around that - keep RGIII. And if RGIII changes and improves then great. You now have a good qb and another potentially good young one on the same roster. But if quarterback is currently a hole on the team, then the decision is easy - draft a potentially better option if the option is available.

Or you can keep hoping that RGIII turns it around - which doesn't look likely in the immediate future. RGIII doesn't appear he wants to change - he thinks it's something outside of what he's doing.
