Well, no IMMEDIATE Bucs connection.
In 2005, he coached DB's in Chicago under head coach Lovie Smith
From 1996 - 2000, Lovie Smith was LB coach while Rod Marinelli was DL coach under DC Monte Kiffin IN TAMPA!!
Further: Rod Marinelli is John Barry's father-in-law. AND Marinelli was DL
Coach while JON Gruden was Head Coach of (wait for it) .....
TAMPA BAY!!!
Clearly, Fewell was hired b/c of his connections to Gruden and Barry, not b/c he coached a SB winning defense. Rank cronyism at its worst.
Allen strikes again
Giantone 01-27-2015, 10:07 PM How do we know Fewell and Barry are going to work well together?
Fewell , DB's never were very good for the Giants under him ,I hope he does for you guys what he has done for us .:food-smil
mlmdub130 01-28-2015, 12:00 AM Callahan and fewell are strong position coach hires. Looking for that QB coach next...things are looking up so far this offseason. If we can add the front office dude from Green Bay too, wow, I'm pretty happy then.
I agree, I also like both of those hires.
Sounds like Highsmith is staying in GB., they won't grant him permission to interview. Seems like a guy they don't want to lose. It does feel like things are trending up. Very curious to see how the draft plays out.

NC_Skins 01-28-2015, 09:18 AM Yeah, I wasn't in the meeting rooms or the like, but it did seem that Haz and Morris were not the best of mixes. I have nothing but rumor and speculation to go on but just not sure the two complemented each other well.
According to twitterverse, Haz wanted to fire Raheem but that was a no-go with Bruce. Probably gives credibility to Jsteelze saying that Raheem was calling some of the defense last year.
TheSmurfs22 01-28-2015, 10:52 AM This is professional sports, cronyism is everywhere. It is hard to avoid when the circles are so small.

im so sick of hearing about this bullshit. He said, she said crap. who gives a flying fuck about what was going on, Haz and Raheem and the rest of the defense simply werent getting it done period.
Nobody earned the right to return, fuck'm and lets move on.
Change was obviously needed.

Agreed, gossipy nonsense. Shit like Twitter and PFT make the NFL a soap opera and some fans eat that shit up. Sometimes less info is better.

You may be sick of it, but I think it's a direct correlation with our dysfunctional as an organization. It's why we continue to get shit like this.
Change was needed, which is why I wanted Haz and Raheem gone years ago.
