Fewell has been coordinating defenses or coaching defensive backs in the NFL since 1998. He's a nice addition to DC Joe Barry's staff, especially since Barry himself was such an underwhelming hire per rotoworld nice hire imo. really nice Yeah, I think this is a solid hire. I have nothing but rumor and speculation to go on but just not sure the two complemented each other well. Well, no IMMEDIATE Bucs connection. In 2005, he coached DB's in Chicago under head coach Lovie Smith From 1996 - 2000, Lovie Smith was LB coach while Rod Marinelli was DL coach under DC Monte Kiffin IN TAMPA!! Further: Rod Marinelli is John Barry's father-in-law. AND Marinelli was DL Coach while JON Gruden was Head Coach of (wait for it) ..... TAMPA BAY!!! Clearly, Fewell was hired b/c of his connections to Gruden and Barry, not b/c he coached a SB winning defense. Rank cronyism at its worst.
