What a piss poor hire! We had Wade Phillips, a proven DC, available. We decided to hire a proven loser.

No matter what has been said, I'm not convinced that Wade genuinely was interested

I am very confused.

Step 1...hire the best GM available
Step 2...hire the worst DC available

One step forward...one step back (keeping Morris would make 2)

By the way, I believe Barry was hired by the Chargers when AJ Smith was their GM.

So Vic, Wade and maybe others may have been generally not interested in this job, how much is that based on the fact we might have a lame duck coach?

Apparently, Barry had a great interview. Translation: Winning off the field (again). Smh

Or shit talent. You can't coach what's not there. Jay is certainly on the hot seat, but we're at the beginning of a long rebuilding process. Why sign on here now? Good DCs are in demand.

I imagine a lot, also the fact that we have issues in both the offense and special teams.

I guess it wasn't meant to be. I guess people forget it takes both sides to have an interest for someone to get hired.

Tells you lots "@AaronLemingNFL: the #Redskins planned on making Fangio highest paid DC in the league. See if that holds true with Bears”

From the WaPo: After his time as DC in Detroit,

The Lions cleaned house following that season, and Barry returned to Tampa Bay for one more season, working under Raheem Morris, who at the time served as head coach and defensive coordinator.

Sorry, the RM connection just worries me.
