Great Hire.

Now we have taken two steps in the right direction.

Now it is time for the one step back...

i see this as a kinda lateral move in terms of coaching talent but probably something that had to be done.

lateral move in that i thought foerster was a very good O line coach.

since 2010 he developed TW into a perennial probowler, lichensteiger's move to Center was flawless, got the most out of will montgomery when he was here .. not to mention he was the O line coach that got Alfmo the 2nd most yards in the NFL for 3 seasons.

Foerster was probably the best position coach we had.

had to be done in the sense that he was a hold over from Shanny's zone blocking scheme and we have a somewhat new approach to blocking now under gruden.

If it makes us better, I'm all for it.

Now it is time for the one step back...

Here it is:

Callahan may have some ties to Bruce Allen from their days at Oakland

I know this is partially tongue in cheek.

But I'm fine with "previous ties" if it yields the best candidate. I don't think the Redskins could have done better in the O Line department based on what was available. Callahan's a very good coach.

But if we pass up Wade Phillips or Vic Fangio to hire Joe Barry because of connections, I'mma break something.

Callahan has proven to be an excellent coach of the kind of fat boys that McC hinted that we would be bringing in.

From Rich Tandler:

Very interesting. MT @NBCdianna: Vic Fangio's family resides in the Baltimore area and his children attend school in Maryland. #Redskins
