Kiper Grades The Draft: Skins get a C

The Redskins had a lot of picks but still ended up with an average draft. Cornerback Carlos Rogers (http://proxy.espn.go.com/nfldraft/draft05/tracker/player?id=8139) fills a big need but taking quarterback Jason Campbell (http://proxy.espn.go.com/nfldraft/draft05/tracker/player?id=8754) with their second first-round pick is a head-scratcher. Campbell is a very good player and a very solid pro prospect thanks to his extreme accuracy, but coach Joe Gibbs wants to win right now and Campbell doesn't help him do that. Linebacker Robert McCune has a lot of ability and Manuel White is an OK running back, but the rest of the picks are average at best.

Seemed about on par with what most of us said...

Gibbs signed a five year contract. He still has time to win with Campbell and leave the team to Williams in good shape.

That's what I've been hoping for, but you have to remember that he did get into this so that Coy could get his foot in the door. Maybe Coy will be the next Jim Mora Jr? I'd like to see williams take over after he gets a little successful offensive experience.

The Campbell pick is tolerated by many here because of their belief in Gibbs abilities with QB's, it's nice to know he will probably be gone, and a not so QB genious is taking over to deal with Campbell.

How does Kiper figure we had a lot of picks.

We had 5 total, and ended up trading down to get 6. Thats still one less than what we should have started with.

I like Kiper, but that kinda ticks me off.

If we could handoff to Williams in 5 years, that would be nice.

Problem is, I don't think we can wait that long before he gives another HC gig a shot.

i like kiper but he falls in love with certain players . if a team picks one of his "love guys" then he will say that team had a great or good draft , if a team does not pick one of his "love guys" he will say that team had a average or bad draft. i really don't know why everyone thinks the cowboys had a good draft, i don't think it was good at all. i think the chargers and the ravens had the best draft. i'm not just picking on dallas because i hate the ravens just as much.
