It's funny how some people say NO free agents but you look at the Seahawks who signed both Michael Bennett and Cliff Avril in free agency, it's about being smart and blending the draft with FA.

Can't compare us to the Seahawks who added theyre final pieces on defense thru FA. They have 4 elite dbs bro.... 4. Then up front Wagner.. two you named. And tons of role players even theyre nickel Lane is decent.. we have biggers... But anyway.. im not saying no free agents. Im saying Oline in free agency. One other piece front office likes and that's it. Watch were gonna take it easy youll see. I said it makes no sense to assume that we are going to draft 53 players no matter how many years the rebuild takes. It is about being smart in FA, and hitting on the right picks, but to say we will not add anyone via free agency is pretty stupid BaltimoreSkins 01-29-2015, 08:49 AM No. It's because free agency rarely works. You rarely get the same player that you think you're getting, for whatever reason. There are numerous examples all around the league and on the Redskins roster. I'd probably pass on Iupati. He's going to be too expensive. I'd hope that they pencil in Long at guard and draft a starting RT. I would say this is a perception based on our teams experience. There are teams that find quality pieces in FA and use them to succeed. If a team routinely struggles to find pieces in FA then that is a FO issue. KI Skins Fan 01-29-2015, 09:30 AM To a point I wouldn't mind, but you can't just cut everybody who "sucks". Doing that would unnecessarily put us deeper in the hole. Chester, Bowen, and Clark obviously need to go. Guys like Meriweather, Lavuao, and Porter can still help. Has there been a Porter sighting? All those guys you mentioned can go bye-bye as far as I'm concerned. In fact, I think the guy who had the idea of throwing a grenade into the locker room to make the cuts wasn't far off. I hardly care who goes bye-bye or how bad our W-L record may be over the next couple of seasons as long as we get younger and better to set ourselves up for long-term success. I want to see a true team build. BaltimoreSkins 01-29-2015, 09:34 AM Ron Parker SS, from Kansas City Mike Iupati OG, from San Francisco Dan Williams NT, from Arizona Byron Maxwell or Brandon Flowers CB from Seattle and San Diego respectively Rahim Moore FS, from Denver Will Hill SS, Baltimore (has issues I know) Samson Steele C Those are the group of FAs I have interest in Although he would be way too much and there isn't a need at all, having Dez Bryant on Madden would be fun He might have seriously hurt his FA stock. Chico23231 01-29-2015, 10:49 AM NFL Free Agency 2015: Position-by-position look at top players hitting the market - Cincy Jungle (http://www.cincyjungle.com/2015/1/27/7922289/nfl-free-agency-2015-position-by-position) found a really good list of the pending free agents. Couple things, Tackle is weak in free agency while the Guards/Center seems strong. Saftey is weak again, while they are some nice options at Corner. skinsfan69 01-29-2015, 03:04 PM Spencer Long? The guy we drafted last year that wasn't good enough to play, let alone start, this year? You want him "penciled in?" WHAT gives you any indication he should be an NFL starter for a QB who is currently struggling???????? I'm being totally serious also. If you can provide me with ANY credible reason to start this guy let me hear it, otherwise all this lobbying for Long needs to stop. When you draft a guy in the 3rd round, and the guy in front of him is older and struggling, you'd hope that the young guy could be a starter at some point. But you're correct, Long didn't do anything to show that he should start. But I'd rather try and plug in a drafted player at that position, rather than overpay for Iupati. skinsfan69 01-29-2015, 03:07 PM NFL Free Agency 2015: Position-by-position look at top players hitting the market - Cincy Jungle (http://www.cincyjungle.com/2015/1/27/7922289/nfl-free-agency-2015-position-by-position) found a really good list of the pending free agents. Alvin Walton 01-29-2015, 03:46 PM Clausen played half decent for Chicago this year. Ponder isnt exactly putrid either. If we need a body on the roster for that spot I would look at those two. |
