50-year-old Ken Shamrock to bareknuckle box 'King of the Travellers' James Quinn McDonagh - Bloody Elbow (http://www.bloodyelbow.com/2015/1/8/7514277/50-year-old-ken-shamrock-bareknuckle-box-king-of-the-travellers-james-quinn-mcdonagh)
Don't think this is posted anywhere else, but 51 year old Ken Shamrock is coming out of retirement to fight legendary BKB fighter, and "King of the Travellers" James Quinn McDonagh (45). If you don't know who McDonagh is, he was featured in the outstanding documentary "Knuckle" (I highly recommend it on netflix)
Have no idea how this came about but Ken is most likely going to get KO'd, probably hurt badly. James Quinn McDonagh is a former boxer and has not lost a street fight since 1984. McDonagh has fame in Ireland for taking on all comers and beating them to a pulp.
The fight, which will be under BKB rules states that there is to be no clenching allowed, no ground fighting, and there is no 10 count - the fight goes on until one man says he's had enough, or they agree to a draw (shake hands). Ken is 2-10 in his last 12 fights and has lost 8 of those fights by first round KO, often being KO'd by a single punch. Last time Shamrock won a fight was in 2003 against Kimo - which was a complete fluke of a TKO.
Ken, who was never a good stand up fighter, has next to no chance with ground fighting being taken away.... This fight will be on youtube somewhere...Sad day for Ken when it happens
