Let's face it. This team has not had a real GM since 1999 when Casserly was fired. Embarrassing, laughable, despicable and rock bottom have been appropriate words the past 15 years.

This week, the unexpected and unexplainable happened. Who knew a REAL football mind would make it to the front office. Dan finally gets it. He made the call to bring in Scotty, no matter how Bruce tried to make it look in the press conference that he lured him here. What guy would actually admit that he sucks at his job and needs to bring someone else in to do it for him? Yeah, it was Dan all along.

The tide has turned. The Redskins future is much brighter. We will have a team to be proud of soon.

What I like about Scotty:

He understands that building a winning team comes through the draft.

He realizes you need to focus on big Oline and Dline guys which takes less pressure off of the QB winning the game.

He seems like a straight shooter who will have no problem getting rid of coaches who are not doing their job.

He will change the culture to smarter football players who aren't just looking for a check.

Scotty is the best thing to happen to this team since Sean Taylor and Joe Gibbs 2.0

I'm Virgil freaking Tibbs and this is my first attempt starting a thread here but will not be my last. Go ahead, discuss....

Welcome, but even if you're Virgil freaking Tibbs 😊you will find that on the WP people don't appreciate unnecessary threads. We are already discussing SM in another thread, this all could have been said there. Just some friendly advice to a new comer. Glad to have you. Im excited too.

This ain't an unnecessary thread. That other thread is an introduction to the GM and announcing his arrival.

This thread goes deeper concerning the future of the franchise, in depth positives concerning the changes in the front office, and overall outlook on the vision of the team based on the new GM.

So let's talk about it folks.

I tend to agree this probably could have gone in the SM thread, but I think the thread's central question, what makes this front office any different, is a good one. For instance, does this one hire stabilize a fractured FO? I'm not so sure. How much more change would make us a well run organization?

Either way, welcome to the board Virgil!

Virgil, you created a lot of phony posts in other threads to raise your post count, just so that you could create this essentially duplicate thread.

Not good.

I was intrigued by the thread title. I thought maybe this about "Why should we have hope this time?" Or maybe it was about "How are we structured vs other teams?"

But it's not really.

However, since the other thread is approaching 300 posts and I know some people get upset by long threads, I'm going to lock that one and keep this open with a new thread title

Welcome Virgil freaking Tibbs to the Warpath! What I like about Scot McCloughan is similar to what you like. I will also add that Scot has come from teams that run a similar West Coast offense as what Jay runs. So, McCloughan is already going to have a very good idea what type of players Jay is going to need to make this thing work. And I think with both guys appearing to be straight shooters, they should have no problem with knowing where they both stand on players chosen.

And we all know Snyder is not one to be patient, but I think he's going to be very patient with Scot McCloughan. He knows he's hit a goldmine with this guy. He's proven, quite recently, how to build championship teams. We're not just talking teams that can make the wild card round on a consistent basis, we're talking about championship teams. Everybody eventually "gets it" at some point or another, and Snyder has gotten it. I know there's going to be guys who will not believe it until it's proven on the field - and that's fine. But again, I'm 100% on board with Scot McCloughan, and I think he's going truly going to turn this organization around.
