Can't throw without your legs. Manning was playing on two bad quads, one was so bad the bruise went through the back of his leg. I think the "washed up and he should retire" talk is a little premature.

A little perspective:

Favre's last season
2509 yards, 11 TDs, 19 INTs, 5-8 record, 69.9 QB rating

Manning this year
4727 yards, 39 TDs, 15 INTs, 12-4 record, 101.5 QB rating

While I don't doubt that those quad injuries Manning had were bad enough to severely affect his play, if I was Manning I would have to look at reasons as to why I'd wanna come back.

A. He's paid his dues, he's as close to being a no-doubter HOFer as you can be. B. He's already got a ring.
C. He's probably the career leader in total money earned as an NFL player.
D. With Fox gone, is there any team in the NFL (Broncos included) where he could win a SB next year to go out on top?

He's probably got 1-2 years left, max. We don't even know what changes the Broncos will make with a new coach on board. He's got nothing left to prove, and his wallet is more than fine. I can definitely see him coming back for 1-2 years, but at the same time I can definitely see him hanging it up for good. He looked fine before the injuries, so he can probably still play at a high level, but does he want to subject his body to another year of punishment? He's not going to be any less brittle next year. Either way he's got a tough decision ahead of him.

2 ways he doesn't come back, he thinks he just can't physically do it, or he doesn't agree with all the changes going down there with the coaching staff. Reports are now saying the entire staff has been let go. Shit is hitting the fan.

They have too much talent to be going out in their first playoff game. Truthfully, that 2012 game against Baltimore should have sealed Fox's fate. It was evident the man is over his head going against superior coaching. He doesn't know how to coach in the post-season. His teams aren't prepared, the game planning sucks. I mean, look at the defensive effort last night. They kept playing that soft zone allowing Luck to eat their ass up. Generated next to no pressure.

That does not matter at all. Even if he had reached across the goal line, he still did not maintain possession through the act of hitting the ground, so it would have been an incomplete pass, not a touchdown. What he was "reaching for" has no bearing at all.

Good call according to current rules.

Not what i heard. I heard if it was determined he was making a football move that the bobble is ok. The ruling was he was not making a football move. Why would that even be in question if it didnt matter?

Maybe I am misinterpreting what you are saying but I disagree. There are plenty of QBs given the same team that wouldn't be able to do jack with it. Wilson is much better at reading the defense and making passes than he gets credit for on here. Plus he has shown improvement over his three years. I would never say he is as good as Luck, but he is definitely a second tier starter imo.

If he is a second tier starter as you call him - on that team- than what would he be on a lesser team (which means pretty much any other team in the league)? In other words that team makes him a second tier starter.

I do not think him being on another team would diminish his ability to read defenses and make the passes he does. Do you really think we are a 4-12 team if Wilson is here? I don't.

No because he is certainly an improvement at an important position. I think we would be 6-7 win team.
But again if he is a second tier qb on thee best team in the league than when you put him on another team he becomes what? Middle of the pack?
Being on Seattle allows him to showcase his talents. I like the kid. I really do. Just dont consider him great. Not by any means.

imo

luck = manning (pure passer)

wilson = brady (pure winner)

rg3 = vick (pure athlete)

If Brady had the defense and running game that Wilson has (including Wilson's ability to run), he'd have 5-6 Super Bowls won already. I'm amazed how overhyped Wilson is by the public and media. He's a damn good QB, but to compare him to f'ing Brady is ridiculous.
