For starters, it's an "excuse" that even the Colts owner said when he fired Bill Polian and noted they spent too many resources on the offense and neglected the defense. It's reality. I've said time and time and time again that defense wins championships. Look at history. History shows you everything you need to know about defense and championships. Very few exceptions.

Offense wins in the regular season.
Defense wins in the playoffs.
Special teams win championships.

And we have none of these....

LOL...the Bills. I point out where the team carried Tom against a playoff team, and you counter with the Bills. C'mon man.....

Stop saying he had top 5 defenses. That is inaccurate. Defensive units ranked by yardage doesn't mean jack shit. PPG allowed defensively is what matters. 2010 though was different and by all accounts the Colts should have did a lot.

Peyton also faced one of the greatest defenses in NFL history with that Chicago team. Can you find me one game Tom has faced that kind of defense in a playoff game? The Ravens are probably the only team that comes to mind, but let's look at who their QBs were during those years....lol

Bad offenses doesn't always affect defenses. Chicago and Baltimore got to the Super Bowl with shitty offenses that didn't produce, yet their units are still strong.

FYI: Defensively this year...

NE ranked 8th in NFL in PPG allowed defensively.

Denver ranked 16th in PPG allowed defensively.

I was only referencing the remark of a QB being carried by a team. Manning was carried vs the Bills. Not sure why playing a playoff team matters for that comment. I actually think it is worst that Manning had to be "carried" (which I think is dumb anyway) vs. a non playoff team.

2012... 4th in PPG, one and done.
2007... 1st in PPG. Also had the Defense MVP on his team. One and done.

Chicago wasn't one of the best defenses of all time. I'm pretty sure Baltimore was better than them that year. Speaking of QBs... who was the QB for the Bears that year? I'm pretty sure the QB couldn't even take a snap.

Brady played Pitt, Baltimore, and Tennessee (when they had a good defense).

He also played Carolina the year when they had the best defensive line in the NFL. When the Patriots played Philly they had a great defense with what was probably the best secondary at the time.

And I agree that NE is better than Denver this year. But Brady needed to score 35 points in order to win his game against a top 10 defense. Manning needed to score 24 against the 19th best defense in the NFL and couldn't get it done. This weekend was a perfect example of why in the playoffs, Brady makes the throws that win games. Brady carried his team this weekend... Manning couldn't and failed.

Hard to argue who is actually better but if brady gets 4 this yr he'll be easily ahead of manning. I already believe tom is the best ever but 4 would really solidify it

Brady has really fallen during the post season recently. Manning has caught up to him and is right there in terms of greatness. Last year's postseason manning was great ti'll the SB. This year NE is def. A better team... they were last year too in my opinion until Gronk got hurt. If gronk and Revis stay healthy only Seattle can beat them IMO

I'll concede the part about the Bears defense being one of the greats. That was a big of exaggeration. However they were still pretty damn dominate. There QB was a shitty Rex Grossman. Had it been anybody else, Peyton wouldn't have won that game. That said, neither would have Brady on that Colts team. It's funny to know that the following ppg allowed defensively in 2006 were as:

1-Ravens
2- Patriots
3- Bears

Brady may have faced those teams, but none of them had QBs except for Pittsburgh.

Not sure what happened this past weekend because it seems that Flacco always has the Patriots number in the post-season. Had that been a regular season game, it would have been a lower scoring game because Flacco sucks in the regular season. I don't thing the Patriots will have to score that many points this week as I don't see Luck beating Brady in New England.

People put too much emphasis on one player. Is Eli a better QB because he's owned Brady like a bitch in two Super Bowls? Fuck no. He's not even close. It's a team game and anything can happen in one and done situations. All of these QBs need other teammates to step up. Some do, some don't.

I'd fucking be happy to have one good unit. Have 3 would be amazing.

Going to defend Tom Brady here a bit. (shocking) Tom and BB hasn't had the type of defense they've needed to have the past 5 or 6 years. Those were the catalysts for their SB runs (and wins). They've gone from 10th, 9th to 8th the past three years so you can see improvement. Also, no way in hell does Luck and the Colts beat Brady in NE. Colts are similar int he fact that he carries that team. If he does bad, it's over. Seattle is the only one that has a real shot at this point.

That said, I said earlier in the season (NE/Denver) game that Denver wouldn't last long in the playoffs this year. That defense isn't what it needs to be to get them into the Super Bowl. They were masked by the offense last year, and supposedly revamped with all the free agents. We see how that worked out. In fact, I think Denver's window is officially closed at this point. They need to get somebody in there to fix that defense and not a yardage defense either.

That rule needs to be changed. He got another foot down and reached for the goal line. If that happened to Garcon we would all be crying foul. That call/rule ruined a great game.

this is again y Brady is better than PMDebatable.

For example, Colts slid from playoff team to 2-14 when Manning got hurt. Pats went 11-5 when Brady got hurt.

I would take Brady over Peyton, just saying.

Why didn't the cowboys get called for 30 yds of personal fouls for arguing with the refs, like we did that giants game?

The argument between Brady and Manning is just odd. You can frame the argument however you want, QB stats Manning is better.Playoff/rings Brady...
Living in New England, this argument is making my ears bleed.
