I can't wait to see what his first move as GM is going to be.

Hopefully to tie Dan up and stick him in a closet.

I'm not sure they can pass the physical fitness test.......

That depends. How many brews do you need to be able to pound in a one hour period to pass?

Looklng forward to the press conference today.

Looking forward to seeing the media bombard him with QB questions and zero questions about the secondary and offensive line.

Bobby Beathard is one of my heroes. His endorsement lends a tremendous amount of
credibility to the McCloughan hire in my mind.

Now, if Scot could just go out and duplicate Beathard's 1981 draft.

1. Mark May
3. Russ Grimm
5. Dexter Manley
6. Larry Kubin
8. Charlie Brown
9. Darryl Grant
12. Clint Didier
UDFA. Joe Jacoby

I've seen this before but I'm just as amazed every time I see it.

Were any other NFL teams drafting that year??

1981 was a pretty stocked draft overall - 8 HOF'ers in the 1st 3 rounds and tons of recognizable solid non-HOF guys too.

At the same time, the late round picks of Grant, Didier and free agent signing of Jacoby were amazing hits.

In 1981 we practiced an art that we have lost: developing players. I'm convinced that we could have drafted different players, at least in some cases, and come up with similar results, simply because we (gasp) made the chosen players better.

The fact that McCoughan liked Kirk Cousins in 2012 means nothing, Kirk has 18 TDs /19 Int. and a propensity to turn the ball over in clutch moments. He can make all the throws but doesn't have the mental fortitude to be a top tiered starting QB.

I ask all you KC fans, what makes him different from Rex Grossman?
