I think once McC takes the reigns we are going to see a complete roster rebuild and more transactions this year than expected.

Where before I think players like Reily, Garcon, Lauvo were "safe"...yeah, not so much any more.

Still trying to figure out why Garcon wouldn't be safe.

cap number, he became the no 2 by a good margin, had the new guy easily out pace his numbers and importance on the field, Shanny pick not Jay, new regime in FO

One thing working in his favor is the play of Andre Roberts

Getting rid of Garcon would be stupid. Beyond stupid.

I dont know if its that bad in a total rebuild mode, but I wouldnt be in favor of losing him at this time.

Garcon's not going anywhere because the McCloughan hire is a clear pivot towards the draft as the source of talent for this team. And since they have $20M in cap space for free agents already, and because they won't be looking to free agency for a huge talent bonanza, they won't feel the pressure to clear additional cap space by cutting Garcon.

He's very safe.

There may be a cap management issue with Garcon's numbers, so they need to fix the cap problem. The player doesn't need fixing. Losing him would not make us better. He will continue to be a good player for years to come, so don't throw the baby out with the bath water.

The cap reason not the prevailing factor if he were to be cut, imo. But yeah McC is a draft guy, that could be another reason he might be let go.

That makes zero sense, Chico.

If it's not a cap reason, then you must think it's a talent or fit reason to cut him. Which makes me question the way your brain works.

And I don't think McC would advocate cutting Garcon to add another receiver to take his place. Why would that make sense?

They couldeasily restructure his deal to pay him instead of cutting it may have to pay him dead cap

It is funny what people fixate on; Garcon and Amerson. They both seem like low priorities to me.

I doubt they are racing through McC mind right now as things he has to do in his first month.
