Lotus 03-17-2015, 12:19 AM Lots of players are retiring young now. What folks like Borland and Locker did used to be unthinkable. SFREDSKIN 03-17-2015, 01:09 AM Shayne Skov now gets to prove himself after Borland retires. FRPLG 03-17-2015, 01:24 AM I'm actually fine with this. Snyder and the team get plenty of criticism from ESPN 980. I mean the only thing worst than a sport's radio show hosted by Reid would have been one hosted by Sally Jenkins. You may not like Reid but other people lost their jobs because of this. Messing with people's lives either out of spite or incompetence. Hog1 03-17-2015, 07:55 AM When you do things that piss off the boss, sometimes it will......cost you KI Skins Fan 03-17-2015, 09:55 AM Tim Tebow is his own worst enemy when it comes to landing a job in the NFL. If he really wants to return to the NFL, he needs to put his ego aside and realize that he is not going to be a starting QB in that league. He has wasted his time working out as a QB when he could have been honing his skills as a pass receiver and blocker so he could become a hybrid TE/H-Back/FB/Short yardage QB. Tebow is a very talented football player but he is just not a good enough passer to make it in the NFL. If he were to present himself as a hybrid playmaker, I think that some team might be interested in adding him to their roster. As an alternative, he could try to make it as a QB in Canada. If he were to present himself as a hybrid playmaker, I think that some team might be interested in adding him to their roster. As an alternative, he could try to make it as a QB in Canada. His love is playing QB, not TE. Therefore its QB or bust for him. Now if the argument was that Tebow would be unemployed and homeless in a couple of years... sure, be a TE. But he can, and is, making good money having nothing to do with the NFL. Maybe his desire to return to the NFL isnt as big as everyone tries to make it out to be. If the opportunity to play QB in the NFL (and only the NFL) presents itself, he will take it, but if it doesnt work out, he has other options available to him. If he was as desperate to play as people try to make it out, he would be in the CFL. I think that just goes to show that the NFL isnt the only thing to him and he can live just fine without it. Being able to live without the NFL does not qualify as having an ego... or do you believe that Patrick Willis and Chris Borland have massive egos for the decisions they made? sdskinsfan2001 03-17-2015, 01:05 PM The NFL is nervous as hell about this Chris Borland retirement. This could become a scary trend for the NFL. As a huge fan of football it makes me nervous. Not sure how much resources the NFL actually puts into taking care of retired players and brain injury research, but they might want to ramp up the spending quite a bit even if they are already spending a pretty penny. Ruhskins 03-17-2015, 02:08 PM You may not like Reid but other people lost their jobs because of this. Messing with people's lives either out of spite or incompetence. I'm sure people working for Pollin's show lost their jobs to make way for Reid's show. Maybe Reid should have done his job without having such a big vendetta against the Redskins or pulling stunts like going on a Twitter fight with players I don't care for Snyder's antics, but as a Redskins fan, I would hated to have Reid spew his anti-Redskins rants every morning. There's plenty of criticism going around in the current shows. SirLK26 03-17-2015, 02:47 PM Supposedly Allen is the main reason the show was cancelled, not Snyder. ESPN radio suddenly halts ‘The Man Cave’, and some blame NFL’s Redskins - The Washington Post (http://www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/style/whats-behind-move-to-pull-plug-on-the-man-cave/2015/03/16/49692a50-cc20-11e4-a2a7-9517a3a70506_story.html?postshare=6531426552448659 ) Anyway, I'm not sure why Reid was even considered for a spot in the first place. Thanks for the link. With this petty and vindictive behavior Bruce Allen once again makes himself, and our organization by extension, into a joke. Bruce Allen should not be the Presidential face of our franchise. |
