ray rice was caught on video, the league is all about image, not substance.

Truth. Only hope for longer suspension is if the outcry over this is large enough. That already happened once though.

Not sure if it is real but i know early reports were missing massive amounts of flesh on the hand and fingers. Guess it was only one finger, but im sure that photo is not far off. It was apparently pretty gruesome. I think he is crazy for amputating his finger just to avoid surgeries. From what ive heard it will not be easy (technique wise) to play the position with four digits.

apparently there's a new tougher domestic violence policy, but since it was made in reaction to these cases (but after the incidents took place) they can't apply it retroactively. new league minimum will be 6 games for the first offense and possible lifetime ban for offense #2.
also, technically he won his case on appeal since the victim didn't testify at the appeal, which is a thing you have to do in that state.
anyways, that's the less jaded/reactionary response.

Technically, it's been recognized the only reason she didn't testify is because a financial settlement was reached. Both parties have said this, none of the facts were ever successfully argued against in the guilty verdict. If there was a video, he wouldn't be in the league right now
