New England Patriots, NFL working on resolution to issues with Deflategate penalties (http://espn.go.com/boston/nfl/story/_/id/12910531/new-england-patriots-nfl-working-resolution-issues-deflategate-penalties)
Either the NFL doesn't agree with Munson's analysis or the NFL has done something they don't want public and think it is best for the league to resolve the matter out of the public eye.Did Kraft speak out in a halting reluctant unsteady voice, against the totally unjustified cap "penalties" levied against us and Dallass?
No?
F him.

NFL to change extra-point kicks to longer distance (http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/12915634/nfl-change-extra-point-kicks-longer-distance)
New rule folks and the skins voted against it. I really like the fact 2 points can be returned for a score.
I'm a little surprised we are going to be seeing what like, 33 yard PAT's .... Crazy... I'm gonna go ahead and say we'll be seeing ALOT of odd final scores, via missed kicks, failed 2 pts, or converted 2 pts.... The change is Interesting, but is it a good kind of intersring? Remains to be seen IMO.

The extra point attempt was stupid to begin with; now it's idiotic.
FGs last year from 33 yards were 94%, so don't count on this new rule having a huge impact.

Agree. This seems like a change for change's sake.

I dont understand how the NFL can worry so much about the extra point. We dont watch the sport for extra points. At this point, just do away with it and go with the option of going for 2 by doing a +1/-1 thing with it. TD is 7 points, if you choose to "go for 2", then add 1 point if successful and subtract 1 point if not.
They have worried about length of games and added rules to keep them at 3 hours (out of bounds is now treated as a first down in college except in last 5 minutes of each half. Half times were shortened from 15 minutes to 12, etc). Remove the extra point and allow us to see more football in that 3 hours.

How 'bout the NFL leave things as it is and stop worrying about the few seconds it takes to make an extra point.

true, of course Im sure once it does people will be bitching.
I really like the fact when Chip goes for 2 early in a games for no other reason than to douche-out now, if(when) Tebow throws carelessly into the end zone (a strong possibilty) it can be picked and returned.

In 2013 (couldn't quickly find last years numbers), there were 1,267 xp's kicked with only five missed (99.6%). Applying the 94% success rate to that number, means about 76 xp's would be missed. While not huge, it does make the possibility of an important xp kick being missed something to consider a little more.
