Aaron Rodgers Likes To Tamper With Footballs, Too (http://deadspin.com/aaron-rodgers-likes-to-tamper-with-footballs-too-1680676328)

Nah, this.

Yeah. You're an idiot.

What does the NFL sell? Incredibly competitive football games. So competitive that they draw in the emotions of millions of fans willing to pay tons of money to attend those games, watch them on TV, buy concessions, buy jerseys, etc. etc.

But as soon as the competitiveness of the very product they're selling is compromised, you're talking about risking the Golden Goose.

The time and money spent on the Wells report pales in comparison to protecting the immense revenue stream their competitive games generate.

Pick up two footballs and see if the one that's deflated 1.2 psi under the limit would impact a game. It doesn't. You have 0 common sense.

One more thing to note since everybody is blaming Goodell.

TwitLonger — When you talk too much for Twitter (http://www.twitlonger.com/show/n_1sm5lnq)

Newsflash: THE REST OF THE NFL OWNERS AGREE WITH ROGER GOODELL.

Also, even after the evidence, you still have the Patriots owner denying the balls were tampered with. Really? GTFO!!!

I don't understand why people forget or don't understand that Roger Goodell works for the owners. Anything that he does, I would think, would have to be agreed upon by the majority of the owners, even when teams get punished.

Goodell is not some type of dictator that does whatever the hell he wants with the league. In my eyes, Goodell is probably the highest paid scapegoat in the country. I'm not saying he doesn't have his own mind and makes his own decisions, but at the end of the day there has to be a significant number of owners that backup his decisions. And I'm sure this includes tough team punishment like Spy/Bounty/Cap/Deflate "gates" we've seen.

Manipulating balls:

NFL aware of game ball incident during Vikings-Panthers - Minnesota Vikings Blog - ESPN (http://espn.go.com/blog/minnesota-vikings/post/_/id/11218/nfl-aware-of-game-ball-incident-during-panthers-vikings)

Ended in a phone call saying knock it off.

Blandino said he would remind the teams the next week not to violate the rules again!

The integrity of the league I say!

Too funny.

Exactly, this is how the entire thing should have been handled. A simple mandate is something that fits this kind of incident. Not a multi million dollar investigation and asking to see someone's cell phone.

I think there is a big difference between the league warning two teams about heating up balls during a cold game and having a repeat offender team's QB and equipment personnel deliberately altering football to gain some type of competitive advantage.

Nah, this.

This is why this whole deflategate thing is stooopid.
Add that to all the retired QBs that claim that there was frequent ball manipulating and its bullshit that the Patriots got hammered for it.
They should let the teams decide what the PSI is, it will put more points on the board.
Let the QBs play.....

If it was so stupid, then Brady and the Pats shouldn't have hidden anything. I believe during SpyGate, the Pats had the whole attitude of "yeah we did it, but the whole league does it." I was surprised the same thing didn't happen this time.

Well I agree with you there, the cover up was stupid on Brady's part. He should have just come clean and it would've been over and done with.

Do you remember the "Steroid Era" in MLB? Sure, it looked good for a while as hitters put up big numbers, but, when the reason for it came out, all the records were called into question.

You want to play balloon ball - fine. If you don't see how that will ultimately affects the NFL's profitability, then pretty sure the concept of "death by a 100 cuts" is foreign to you.
