Ruhskins 01-13-2015, 03:22 PM If Wilson wins it this year, you'd have to put him in with those guys.
If he has a more significant performance than last year's Super Bowl, then yes. Which I can see happening.
Ruhskins 01-13-2015, 03:29 PM Perhaps you were exaggerating just to make point, but sure it matters. Look at Rex Ryan's defenses in New York. His offenses were bad pretty much every year, yet he maintained a solid defense. I'll concede that the offense can help the defense out a lot... that's pretty obvious... but saying we can't have a solid(or at least, improved)defense with our current offense is incorrect.
I'm pretty positive that in the years that Rex Ryan's Jets had winning seasons, their offense was far better than ours. I know they had an elite offensive line, which made Sanchez look like a decent QB, and a good running game.
Skinzman 01-13-2015, 03:33 PM His results in Tampa speak a lot louder than the fact that he helped develop one player or the excuse that he didn't have a lot to work with.
I dont want Raheem to get the DC job, I would rather have Phillips or Schwartz from the ones available now. Fangio might jump to the top of the list if he is let go. But all of this stuff about Morris in Tampa is somewhat diluted. His last year, Tampa cut everyone and went with an MLS payroll (and they werent talented before stripping the team down. It was BA's players they were dropping right and left). That last year for Morris in Tampa, they had all of about 5 players that could have been substitutes on other teams. The rest didnt belong in the NFL. The roster moves that Tampa was making at that time made it pretty obvious they were moving on from Raheem a year or two before they actually did. They just didnt want to bring in the new coach only to watch him fail so they let Raheem be the fall guy.
Again, I dont want him to get the DC job, I havent been impressed with his work here. While our defense lacks serious talent, they always played as bad or worse than said talent, no overachieving whatsoever which is what the good coaches can get out of their players (sadly half of you are going to view this post as a Raheem is the greatest ever post). But at least judge the whole Tampa Bay organization as to the handling of the uncapped year, dont just make crap up to justify your position. We were redoing contracts to pull money into the uncapped year. Tampa was blowing the doors off of the cap floor by dropping so far underneath it. They came into the year following the uncapped year with something like 60 or 70 mil in cap space.
For all the talk about this college team or that college team could beat the worst NFL team, its rarely true. But that Tampa team was a college team.
diehardskin2982 01-13-2015, 03:43 PM I want to see the DC picked soon but not before we see how the SF HC thing plays out. Vic Fangio may become available. My current top 6 are:
1. Schwartz
2. Fangio
3. LeBeau
4. Phillips
5. Pepper Johnson
6. Norton Jr.
Lotus 01-13-2015, 03:52 PM i never intended to say wilson's 3 years in the league is comparative to brady HOF career ...
sometimes i think people try to intentionally get it twisted.
I understood your comparison and found it valid.
I also understand what you are saying about the intentional twisting. I prefer to believe for now that some people just don't have very good reading comprehension, because they ALWAYS miss the important details.

I try not to miss the important details, but it happens every once in a while. Oh well, this is just a hobby.
Lotus 01-13-2015, 03:59 PM Honestly, I'm not a big fan of Morris, but he hasn't been hired yet. The same people that were screaming for new blood, were also opposed to Wade Phillips (who I personally think we should hire).
Everything is not resolved by bringing in new blood (hey Gruden is technically new blood) and the majority of the hires done in the league are done because someone knows someone.
1) Of course everything is not resolved by bringing in new blood. No one said it was.
2) You continue to miss a simple aspect about the argument about networking. The question is not whether it is normal (it is). The question is WHO is doing the networking.
If Katie Perry networks our next DC, we're probably screwed since she doesn't know what she is doing. Neither does Bruce Allen, so why should we be happy with his networking? This is a very simple point.

Well, until Bruce Allen is gone from this team, any hire is probably going to be part of his network. Hell, Scot McC was a network hire, so should we automatically think he's a bad hire? Tell me oh wise one.
And once again, Morris hasn't been hired, so all this nonsense could be for nothing. As someone said, Fangio could be in the mix.
mredskins 01-13-2015, 04:10 PM Has Bruce Allen become the new Obama? I swear some of you must spill your milk in the morning and blame BA.
