skinsfaninok 01-13-2015, 02:28 PM They can't be any worse than Haslett Lotus 01-13-2015, 02:44 PM We've also struggled offensively for years too (except for 2012). And bringing new blood for the sake of new blood doesn't work. I mean, weren't these the same people b*tching about Wade Phillips getting hired? I swear, people need to stop b*tching at everything. No one argued for bringing in new blood for the sake of new blood. Tell me, what makes Morris a better candidate for DC than Wade Philips? Or Vic Fangio, who may still come loose? Or Jim Schwartz, who again may be turned loose? SirLK26 01-13-2015, 02:46 PM Pretty much what I'm thinking. He hasn't exactly had quality talent to work with back there. And shouldn't he get some credit when it comes to Breeland? His results in Tampa speak a lot louder than the fact that he helped develop one player or the excuse that he didn't have a lot to work with. Lotus 01-13-2015, 02:49 PM Everyone says that Gruden is too honest on his pressers. Gruden also has alot of history with Haslett. Plus he said this at the end of the season (see the date of December 2014 on the article). He could have said nothing or be vague about it (the way he has ALWAYS been about RG3). As I said, since I am not the insider with the original information, so all I can do is point you to what others on the Warpath have said to corroborate my information. So it comes down to whom you believe. You choose to believe a press conference - more power to you. But I choose to believe a Warpath insider whose information typically is impeccable, and I feel comfortable with my choice. Skins1570 01-13-2015, 02:50 PM What about Mike Nolan? I know he has bad history with Dan the whole Ice Cream thing but he is also connected to Scott McCloughan. skinsfan69 01-13-2015, 03:00 PM What about Mike Nolan? I know he has bad history with Dan the whole Ice Cream thing but he is also connected to Scott McCloughan. That was a long time ago. Snyder probably still has his issues but he'd probably admit that was a really stupid thing to do. I'd be on board with Mike Nolan. Solid football coach. SirLK26 01-13-2015, 03:05 PM It could very well be Gruden making the call. Let's not forget Gruden was very loyal to Haslett and would probably have kept him around. At the end of the day, nothing is going to matter on the defensive side of the ball, if Jay Gruden doesn't get that offense to be somewhat decent. Perhaps you were exaggerating just to make point, but sure it matters. Look at Rex Ryan's defenses in New York. His offenses were bad pretty much every year, yet he maintained a solid defense. I'll concede that the offense can help the defense out a lot... that's pretty obvious... but saying we can't have a solid(or at least, improved)defense with our current offense is incorrect. skinsfan69 01-13-2015, 03:09 PM When people stop comparing him to Brady, Manning, Brees, and Rodgers. And actually, I don't bitch about Wilson, I bitch about the uninformed people that think he's the greatest QB ever. I like Wilson, and think he's a good QB. If Wilson wins it this year, you'd have to put him in with those guys. over the mountain 01-13-2015, 03:12 PM When people stop comparing him to Brady, Manning, Brees, and Rodgers. And actually, I don't bitch about Wilson, I bitch about the uninformed people that think he's the greatest QB ever. I like Wilson, and think he's a good QB. i never intended to say wilson's 3 years in the league is comparative to brady HOF career ... sometimes i think people try to intentionally get it twisted. Ruhskins 01-13-2015, 03:20 PM No one argued for bringing in new blood for the sake of new blood. Tell me, what makes Morris a better candidate for DC than Wade Philips? Or Vic Fangio, who may still come loose? Or Jim Schwartz, who again may be turned loose? Honestly, I'm not a big fan of Morris, but he hasn't been hired yet. The same people that were screaming for new blood, were also opposed to Wade Phillips (who I personally think we should hire). Everything is not resolved by bringing in new blood (hey Gruden is technically new blood) and the majority of the hires done in the league are done because someone knows someone. |
