Actually Cooley mentions that pretty much all of RG3's mistakes are coachable
He says he doesn't think RG3 is dumb or unable to do the things necessary, he just freezes up and is unable to react fast enough, that he does very well when he has enough time.
So why isn't Gruden coaching to those issues?
Did you listen to the rest of the analysis?
He said that in the same breakdown when he compared Griffin's sack rate to McCoy's and Cousins'.
If you did, you already have your answer according to the guru of everything Redskins.

It's nice to know that we're thinking like Bill Polian on this issue, isn't it? Now, if if Dan Snyder would just hire Bill Polian to build our team I'd feel better about the future.
My problem with Jay Gruden regarding RGIII is that I suspect that Gruden is looking for an easy way out of his responsibility to develop RGIII. The reason I have a problem with that is because I think I see something extraordinary in RGIII that can to be brought out of him. I just can't stand the idea that Robert could develop into a true franchise QB somewhere else.
Again, I think it needs to be made abundantly clear to Jay Gruden by higher management that both he and RGIII will be with the team next season and that Gruden is still expected to mould RGIII into a good starting QB. He needs to be told that nothing has changed from when he first took the job in respect to his responsibility for RGIII's development.
If Jay doesn't like that then Dan Snyder should just tell Jay that it's tough shit for him that the job of developing RGIII is harder than it may have looked to him from the outside. After all, that's why Jay is getting paid the big bucks.
I wonder what the conversation during the interview between the FO and Gruden was like. I feel like there is a disconnect between the expectations and I would like to know where that disconnect lies. I have a hard time believing the FO wouldn't ask Gruden what his expectations for the offense are and how he plans to implement them. The product on the field suggests one of the two parties was not clear with the other.

at the time of accepting the job and all that guaranteed cash money, i dont think gruden ever suspected RG3 would be this far behind at the basics of being an NFL qb.

It says volumes about the trash caliber of this coaching staff that franchises around the league, division rivals especially, continue to state publicly 1) the talent they see in RG 2) the hope/desire they somehow land him.
I mean contrast is just startling. Gruden schemes and calls plays that maximize his teams weaknesses and minimizes strengths, and then goes on to talk shit about the franchise QB. Meanwhile the competition knows what we have and can't wait to get their hands on it.
How anybody is defending Gruden at this point just floors me. I thought he seemed like a solid guy, just not HC material. Now he looks like a moron and an asshole.

I agree. good coaches will change the scheme to their players strength's until he can get them coached up or replaced and not through players under the bus

Who's saying that though? I have yet to see any division rivals, or any team for that matter, say that they have hope/desire to land RG3. Sure they might say he's talented, but when has an NFL team ever come out and said a player is not talented enough to play in the NFL? That's bad for business. Also if your example is Bill Polian, I need more than that. One guy (who's pretty much a talking head at this point in his career) saying the rest of our team sucks is not a ringing endorsement of his talents.

Sorry man I was being lazy. There's a few articles with Chip Kelly saying he'd love to have RG in philly. Before that Jones in Dallas.
But my point is really about what we're witnessing here. The coaching might be the worst I've ever seen in pro football. A few are coming to the only logical explanation Gruden is trying to get fired.

They never said that.. I saw those articles
Jones aid RG3 is athletically gifted. It's called praise and not putting any bulletin board talk up.
Nobody would trade anymore than a 5th for RG3 right now

Best thing they can do for RGIII or for himself during the offseason, is to hire an ex-QB or coach and immerse himself on how to play in the pocket. Learn the timing, awareness, footwork, etc. he's got 7-8 months to learn that shit if he wants to succeed.
