The right leader can change attitudes in a couple weeks, culture in a couple months and the whole team in a couple years. Gotta find that guy.

SmootSmack 12-13-2014, 11:33 PM Well this definitely changes things in my mind. If this is correct, Cole is literally the only one that has this. I've talked to about - half dozen local beat reporters and columnists and some national guys, and everyone says this is incorrect SmootSmack 12-13-2014, 11:36 PM I believe Fred Smith left a while ago. I could be wrong. Maybe you're thinking of when he was considering a bid to buy the Jaguars. Still with the Skins though KI Skins Fan 12-14-2014, 10:00 AM I think trading or cutting RGIII could be a disaster for this franchise. Robert is only 24 years old and, in the past, he has been able to recover fully from major injuries. He is clearly a very intelligent young man and he works hard. Now, he has been humbled and he knows that he a lot to learn about playing QB in the NFL. You have a young man who could come back next year fully restored to health with all of the physical gifts with which he entered the NFL. If he is motivated to get better over the off-season (and he'd better be), he could come back with a much better understanding of the offense in which he is playing and improved mechanics. This is a player you want on your team. Reluctantly, I have to admit that for RGIII to have a chance to become a very good QB for the Skins in the near future, the Skins need to retain Jay Gruden and let Robert develop in the same offense for the next few years. I think Bruce Allen should make it crystal clear to both Jay and Robert that, like it or not, they will both be here next season, that it is still Jay's job to develop Robert, and it is still Robert's job to learn everything he possibly can about this offense and how to be a pocket passer. Robert should also be told that it is his responsibility to earn his way back on the field and that he is expected to do whatever it takes to make that happen by the opening game of 2015. punch it in 12-14-2014, 11:06 AM So how many weeks do you give Griff next year if he still looks like a lost puppy on the field? I'm living in yesterday's tomorrows. MTK 12-14-2014, 11:13 AM I think trading or cutting RGIII could be a disaster for this franchise. Hopefully cooler heads will prevail during the offseason. I do agree it's too early to give up on him, he's still under contract, so continue to develop him. Yeah, he throws a lot of picks. Young pocket passer QBs tend to do that. Luck throws a lot of picks, for example. The team hasn't caught fire with McCoy since the Dallass game. Is Gruden through with Cousins as much as Griffin? Is it the talk that Cousins was throwing team mates under the bus too? KI Skins Fan 12-14-2014, 11:29 AM So how many weeks do you give Griff next year if he still looks like a lost puppy on the field? I would hope that would be up to the coach. In fact, I think it should be up to the coach whether or not Robert plays at all. punch it in 12-14-2014, 11:33 AM I would hope that would be up to the coach. In fact, I think it should be up to the coach if Robert plays at all but I don't see why Jay Gruden wouldn't play RGIII if Robert gives the team the best chance of winning. Well of course it is up to the Redskins and not the fans, lol. Maybe you meant up to the coach as opposed the owner. Either way I am just curious what your personal take would be. Since 2012 I dont think Robert gives anybody the best chance to win. Imo if he is the starter next year and he looks as inept as he has this year in week one than it is officially time for him to be done. I'm living in yesterday's tomorrows. I said it should be up to the HC, meaning not the owner. If the coaches do all they can to help RGIII and he still is unable to perform well enough to start, then I think it's on Robert and the Redskins should part ways with him prior to the 2016 season. |
