Blame Canada.

To do that, we need corners who can capably play man coverage, and since DHall went down we don't have anyone who fits that description.

You would also need greater depth then we have, because Zone is a breather sometimes. Coming from experience.

Just at a glance, seems like Revis has rebounded at NE. Wish our guys could step up more here. And they are young, maybe they will.

I don't blame the coordinators. I would put the blame mostly on injuries and inconsistency - meaning they never seem to have the same starting secondary/nickel/dime from week to week. I haven't actually looked, but has there been more than two consecutive weeks that we had the same secondary starting together? Doesn't seem like it. I'm like, Oh Minnifield is back...hey who is this Ducre guy? You can't expect great things, and more importantly you have to expect miscommunication and blown coverages when you can't seem to put a consistent secondary out on the field from week to week.

Personally I would give the defense a C+ so far this year. They haven't been great, they have given up some big plays (head scratchers even), but they have kept us in most games. It's the offense that has let the team down the majority of the year.

We should just be a man team, stop running zones these players don't seem to grasp.

We did run man a lot against Indy. Besides Breeland, we were getting beat on that too.

the blown zone coverages seem to be simple tampa 2 or 3 deep zones where a corner (like amerson) is supposed to drop back deep and play a quarter but doesnt.

Cooley makes it sound like the secondary's problems come from a mix of communication issues and sometimes flat out not doing the right assignment. So to me our secondary problems are more on the players than the coaches. Otherwise, how is Breeland, as a rookie, the best player in the secondary? He's getting the same coaching the other guys are. Not saying Haslett should stay, because you'd think after 4 years he'd have made progress in some basic areas and he really hasn't, but he's never had a lot to work with either. Sadly, I have no faith we'll find more Breeland's in the draft next year, with or without Haslett.

It was funny to me a while back when Clark and Breeland said the secondary needed to communicate better, while Amerson and Meriweather were saying the communication was fine. Maybe I'm making too much out of this, but is it a coincidence that Clark and Breeland are Gruden guys?

Multiple people on talk radio alluding to "Fred Davis" like problems for Amerson.

Absolutely inexcusable.
