No offense but my understanding is that what you said is untrue. Why is AJ just a consultant? Because Allen is calling the personnel shots much more actively than "final approval."
Mike Shanahan left a personnel power vacuum and Allen filled it.
I was speaking about my future scenario, not the current situation. AJ is an team executive, more than a consultant. No one outside of Redskins Park knows really what he does for the team.
I think this is how they will adjust the front office.

I think that would be an improvement over what we have now. We had a lot of injuries this year, but I would still say Allen's first FA class was pretty bad, and the draft class is at best mediocre. I'm fine with Allen doing contracts, but he shouldn't be the guy calling the personnel shots.

Im glad that throughout the history of the NFL that all the decision makers weren't as blind to extenuating circumstances, or as hasty as you. It would have been a shame to have had so many good players and coaches cut or fired before their time.
I have no idea what Gruden will do next year, but I do know that the offense in Cincy is mediocre at best since he left . I do know that there are probably no coaches in the NFL today that would have more than 5 wins on this team today.
AJ Green has been hobbled this season, he was a monster last year and the year before...
Cincy's offense still looks better than anything Gruden has put together this year.

Really? Ask the Colts who they thought was better.

Rotten, your post are becoming very rotten!! Do you have anything else besides spewing your dislike for Gruden? I'm starting to dislike this forum because of your rhetoric. Please come up with something different. As I was told on this site last year "You are a one trick pony"...

Try looking at the rankings under the words "total offense" where we are number 12 and they are number 13.
Better yet stick with what I was saying and compare the Bengals from last year to the Bengals of this year. You want to bring up AJ Green? What about our complete lack of an o line, or three not so hot qb's? Wait till Gruden gets some competence on the line and a QB thats halfway decent. Probably though the front office will fail him like they have been failing coaches for 23 effin years.

Gruden was a good OC in Cincy... What remains to be seen is if he is good HC material, and so far he is not making a case for himself... While I agree very few if any coaches would have success this year in DC, it really does seem like we are regressing instead of improving, which is very troublesome... Regardless, I think you give him another shot next year... But all of this is moot if Allen is still the guy evaluating the talent and shaping the roster...
Allen being the GM is by far the biggest reason why we suck this season...

I couldnt agree more. Except I dont think we are regressing. I think we forget how bad we were just last year. I just want to give the guy a shot with all the trimmings - cap money, first round pick, New DC. As you said, and I have said hopefully the FO doesnt shit all over whatever changes need to be made to our team and our DC again.

^^ Cincy averaging about 4 points more a game.
