I think today's game should tell us more about where Gruden stands with the players. I thought the team was lifeless in the 1st half against the Colts but they played harder in the 2nd half. If they come out on fire against the Rams, then that would be a very good sign that they support Gruden. If not...

Everything i've seen and read says that Gruden is gone at the end of the season. One article said that a "furious" Snyder considered firing Gruden in the days following the RG3 benching, but he was basically talked down by Bruce Allen and other top advisors.
It was made clear that the next Head Coach is not going to have much say / input on personnel decisions, and one of the first issues addressed when they go out and get a new HC is that RG3 is the unquestionable starter.
I kind of wonder who they are going to find. In my opinion as of late people aren't exactly breaking down the door wanting to work for the redskins...
That sounds like the drama mama version of the story. I doubt he is gone this year.

It means I don't think he'll make enough of an impression to make it to year 3. I've heard a lot of people say he's got 2 years to prove himself. People with influential power
And here lies the problem.

Another season, another shit storm. We have truly become the Raiders of the NFC.

If you think Jay Gruden came and cursed some magical franchise, well then you're an idiot
At the same time, Jay was neither the Redskins' first choice, nor were they his. So off the bat, it's been kind of a shaky relationship
I still think he's here one more year. And then he's gone
Out of curiosity, who was Gruden's first choice?

I don't see that as a problem. He ought to be able to show substantial progress in two years if he's any good.

And then roll in another hc, another philosophy, switch out player personel...no that's not enough time.
This team is in perpetual disfunction with this thinking

I agree!
Can't trust anonymous sources from Redskins park.
Last week, the big head line was Snyder and Allen gave up on RG3.
Today it's another story.
Realistically, the truth is somewhere in the middle.
RG3 Regressed and Gruden has a shitshow of a team.
We could go into 2016 without either of them.

His contract is guaranteed so yeah, I doubt Snyder wants to pay him $25M for one season worth of work.

Keep rolling in HC's every two years until he finds the right one is exactly what I think Snyder should do. If he hired the wrong man, the problem must be fixed. More years of the wrong man doesn't fix anything. What will fix it is hiring the right man. I would go no more than two years with any coach who has failed to significantly improve the team during that time. Three more years of misery with a failed HC serves no purpose. I'd rather switch out some player personnel after two years than to endure a poor HC for five years.
We all know that the odds of Snyder hiring the right person are very low but if he keeps trying he might get lucky.
