If you think Jay Gruden came and cursed some magical franchise, well then you're an idiot
At the same time, Jay was neither the Redskins' first choice, nor were they his. So off the bat, it's been kind of a shaky relationship
I still think he's here one more year. And then he's gone
Even if he succeeds next year or shows great improvement he's still gone? If so. ... Im done with this franchise

Isn't that worst possible scenario? Either he's worth giving 3 yrs as a legit coach deserves, or he's not and you go find one that is now.

When Vinny was canned and he brought in Allen and Shanny I thought Snyder had finally turned a corner. In 2012 we were all sky high and thought we had finally found our formula but that ended against Seattle in playoffs and then followed into 2013 season. I believed a lot of the drama was on Shanny, but with this year I am second guessing that. Now with how this season is going and all the end of season drama and leaks before games it is pathetic. Basically Bruce Allen is a slight better Vinny and is Snyders buddy and expert picnic coordinator. I think Snyder is conflicted about this if he gives up on RG then he looks like dumba$$ but would show that he listening to the football people, if he gives up on Gruden after one year he will fall further in the dumps with fans especially if another coach comes in and cant make RG a QB. Also if he fires Gruden we be the team no one wants to coach and be hammered by ESPN left and right because of big brother Jon. We screwed........but we all have know this for years, the Redskins would make a good reality show.

I don't know what to think of this soap opera! What does bother me is the fact that Gruden gave up on RGIII and Kirk way too prematurely.
Gave up?
Gave up. . .
How long are you supposed to stay with a guy who you have to uninstall your game plan for (against Tampa Bay) because he can't do the basic things required of an NFL quarterback?
If sports writers, talk radio hosts, and fans on a Redskins forum know that Griffin can't:
look at more than one side of the field on a play,
make reads beyond a check down (sometimes not even that),
scramble left and throw,
move in the pocket without losing sight of his receivers,
escape pressure with his feet or a quick release,
anticipate his receivers coming open;
then the defensive coordinators who we face probably know all those things too.
It is their job to know all that. After 3 years and multiple injuries, Griffin is the easiest of our QBs to defend.
Out of Kapernick, Wilson, and Griffin, all of whom run a mobile QB type offense we have the least skilled of the bunch. Wilson is slick and smart. He takes care of the ball and himself but isn't a great quarterback.
Everybody keeps hoping to recapture the magic of 2012. This organization is chasing a pipedream.
But, this is the guy we need to put winning football games, the careers of 50 to 60 players (idk whether to count the practice squad), and the livelihood of coaches on hold for so he can learn the basics he should already know.
Yea sure.

Who was the Redskins' first choice? Just curious.
Well, Bruce Allen's first choice was David Shaw

Was your last statement meant to mean you think he will fail next year, or that if he fails next year he will be gone? It seems to be the former.

It means I don't think he'll make enough of an impression to make it to year 3. I've heard a lot of people say he's got 2 years to prove himself. People with influential power

I think that if we improve the oline and db's - get a real DC, and we win even 7-9 games that he will get another year to draft a qb.

I can understand that. If you put two consecutive losing seasons together then it's hard to justify keeping. Unless improvement is shown

Everything i've seen and read says that Gruden is gone at the end of the season. One article said that a "furious" Snyder considered firing Gruden in the days following the RG3 benching, but he was basically talked down by Bruce Allen and other top advisors.
It was made clear that the next Head Coach is not going to have much say / input on personnel decisions, and one of the first issues addressed when they go out and get a new HC is that RG3 is the unquestionable starter.
I kind of wonder who they are going to find. In my opinion as of late people aren't exactly breaking down the door wanting to work for the redskins...
