Gruden is are only hope, but he needs a little autonomy from the front office. IMO in order to be successful we need to clean house with some folks in the front office.

Also think bruce needs to go from personel decisions and it's time to hire a real gm^This. The front office dysfunction and lack of structure there will continue to hold this team hostage until we bring in a real GM.

I've said it since day 1 and today seems like a good day to re-hash my thoughts.

They got a pig in a poke with RG3 - he is not the whole problem with the team but he is a big problem. I'm not sure if the Redskins can win with this guy. They've won games with Cousins, and with Colt McCoy. Lots of people will say "oh look at the 2012 season" but i think it was just a fluke and now we are seeing the REAL RG3

Not really a fluke, just a case of defensive coordinators taking a while to adjust to the dual threat quarterback types that buy extra time with their legs. Look at Russell Wilson, his early numbers have fallen off. Colin Kaepernick was tearing it up production wise in the play-offs in 2012 when he didn't even have 10 starts under his belt, now Kaepernick is putting up average numbers. Unfortunately Griffin isn't even putting up average numbers, and even when his numbers look ok in the box score what you see on the field looks worse. He is just another QB who relied on physical talents that has been exposed when defenses contain his mobility and force him to make quicker decisions. So far he can't cope, missing easy throws, taking drive killing sacks and turning the ball over.

Jay Gruden seems likable enough, but he his not pro HC material and there's no evidence he'll grow into it even at this point. I tried to say before the game, good coaches have their team sharp after a bye week. The team, offense especially, was sloppy and unprepared today. Grudens not a leader.
The scheme and play-calling are crap too. Grudens not the guy.

But Snyder can't stop there. Allen's produced HALF a quality season in 5 years. Remember how aweful the first half of 2012 was. Otherwise Allen's product has been absolute shit.

I wouldn't hold it against Snyder at all for cleaning house, starting this week maybe.

True, but you have to admit we have more "misses" than say the Packers or Steelers....and that started way before Bruce....just saying.

I think BA has brought much more professionalism to the organization since he arrived.

But hey, we got the pitch forks out, so let's light the torches! :)

Not really No Team Can Beat the Draft | FiveThirtyEight (http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/no-team-can-beat-the-draft/)
I think it just seems that way since we are so vested in this team. It may also be because we have a tradition of trading away draft picks and not collecting them, which appears to be the most effective way to succeed at the draft.

Robert had a bad game. He stopped looking downfield, whether it was from pressure or scheme. He just stopped looking downfield. I have asked for years before Robert what is the process for QB progression in Washington? Does the QB have the choice of who to throw it too or does he have to throw it to the primary targeted receiver. Because it seems like the same problem since Brad Johnson left.

If I was Bruce Allen, I would help Jay by bringing back Trent Baalke (one time Redskin national scout) to whatever the position above GM is, pay him whatever it takes. Have you guys seen the talent this guy has brought to the 49ers?

Baalke has done as well as anyone in the NFL since 2010, when he began overseeing the 49ers’ personnel department. Under his guiding hand, the 49ers’ drafts have yielded standout starters such as Anthony Davis, Mike Iupati, NaVorro Bowman, Aldon Smith, Kaepernick and Reid. Since Baalke took over as general manager, the 49ers have gone 36-11-1.

This year alone:

Jimmy Ward 1st round
Carlos Hyde 2nd round
Marcus Martin 3rd round
Chris Borland 3rd round
Aaron Lynch 5th round (best pick of the 49ers this year)

Time to clean our front office

Just make AJ SMITH co-GM. Make AJ responsible for selecting players, Bruce for negotiating contracts. From there, AJ hires a new scouting department.

Of note in that article:

"Research by TheBigLead’s Jason Lisk (then writing for Pro-Football-Reference) shows that teams with top-five picks in the draft correctly identify the player who goes on to have the best career only 10.3 percent of the time, a success rate that only gets worse as things progress deeper into the draft. So a team that believes it could somehow beat the market if only it controlled its own fate can end up doing more harm than good if it trades away lower picks to move up in the draft. "

Sound like any team you know?
