Rotten1980 12-03-2014, 05:46 PM Sells subs. :laughing- Paintrain 12-03-2014, 06:25 PM Unbelievable. We trade a buttload of picks for a guy who can't even make it through his rookie contract. This is a serious indictment of both player and franchise. Want even more unbelievable (yet totally believeable)? Since 2000 Chris Samuels is the ONLY first round pick to get a 2nd contract. Including 5 first round picks traded away during that time span, we've used 8 first round picks (trades involving picks from '03, '06 and '12, '13 & '14 plus Ramsey, Campbell and Griffin) in pick or trade at the QB position in that time period. Orakpo is gone next year as is Griffin. Williams and Kerrigan will probably be extended but the track record in the first round is beyond abysmal. No wonder we are a raging dumpster fire year after year. Paintrain 12-03-2014, 06:34 PM The frustration level with RG3 is high within the building, it's pretty high with Kirk too but Gruden and co. feel that's correctable. Hoping cooler heads prevail as far as RG3 and they see the mistake they could be making in letting him go (even in a trade), but this has been progressively getting worse. And once he's lost the support of Dan, there's little turning back. Not saying he's lost Dan's support but Snyder's no longer "standing on the table" for him I suspect as well that the team knows it needs to make a choice "Rob or Kirk" and while Rob won't get you as much as you traded for him, he'll get you a lot more than Kirk If you had to put a percentage to it, how much is the frustration for his off the field work (film study, preparation, study habits) vs. on the field (practice habits, game production, lack of improvement) for Griffin? I've heard the biggest issues with Kirk are not so much the turnovers themselves but the fact that he lacks the guts/confidence/demeanor to bounce back and he gets down in the dumps too quickly. Can't deal with adversity. Any substance to that? Has it gotten to a Rob vs. Kirk situation? I know it's been festering since the Cleveland game in 2012 and RG felt threatened by Kirk ever since. Do you think/is there a sense in the building that if there wasn't a Kirk or Colt that he would be more relaxed and perform better? Any thought to bringing in an actual QB coach? McVay and Gruden have other duties and nobody is devoted to coaching up the QB position. Evilgrin 12-03-2014, 06:49 PM Kirk is a change of pace QB off the bench, he isn't a good NFL starter. If Griffin can't watch film, and sort of absorb reality. Then why keep trying? I'm all for keeping him, but he doesn't look like the same player on the field now. If he hasn't hit a point where his ego can step aside, they can't wait forever. Also, WTG Snyder once again. KI Skins Fan 12-03-2014, 06:55 PM I'd say maybe a couple teams would have him come in to compete to be a starter. Maybe the Jets, Buffalo and Tampa. I'd say there would be a few teams that would like him as a back up...Dallas, Seattle and SF. Remember, every team now has seen the tape of him playing below average the last two years, plus all the drama that comes with it. Dallas would be the perfect landing spot for him. I forbid the Redskins to trade RGIII to Dallas. It would be just our luck that he would turn around his career there and beat us twice a year. I hate Dallas too much to think there might be any chance of that happening. diehardskin2982 12-03-2014, 07:09 PM Honestly, I think Robert's situation is all about Robert. He has to decide to want it, to do everything in his power to get better, become the player that he wants to be. It takes a lot to humble yourself and go to work on the mental stuff. Personally I would be walking across the street to Gruden's house and asking to study film with him. Put in the time to turn my career around. Personally I would be walking across the street to Gruden's house and asking to study film with him. Put in the time to turn my career around. Excellent post....very accurate. I completely agree with this. I think a small part of the problem developed during RGIII's great rookie year, he developed the belief that RGIII > Head coach. Until Griffen can run a pro system and win a few Superbowls that shit should never happen. This is the third coach (M. Shanahan, Gruden and Kyle S.) to have serious issues with RGIII. There is clearly a big ego with Superman socks on in the way of Griffens development as a pro. Griffen is a college QB playing in the NFL. For me the proof came on the field when he came back from the dislocated ankle. He tried to win it all himself. rocnrik 12-03-2014, 08:18 PM Right now, what does Griffin do better than Colt? Yea I would like to know that also..I will say at first RGIII had way more potential than Colt but potential does not win games..his trade value will tell us what other teams think of him, in a QB starved league you would think that if RGIII is all that we should have no problem getting at least a second round pick ..my bet is we get nothing and he will be released . |
