This franchise has been a......revolving door of coaches and....."New" systems. Nothing would shout incompetence more loudly than changing directions...yet again and not even ONE Season????
Are you kidding me....he needs a chance with the 3-13 team he inherited. And FWIW, I like his style...shoot from the hip.
Gruden is super likable for sure, like his big brother. I like him, and said it a few times already.
He's not HC material though. He's entering Zorn territory with his x's and o's and now leadership, or lack there of.
Sacking an HC midseason is almost never a good idea. Giving a clearly inadequate HC another year is just as bad though.

Agreed, this "straight shooter" BS isn't going to help things calm down. The whole damn team needs less talk and more action.
We've already tried the "we're a team, we win and lose together." Kinda done with it. Need some accountability to the leaders. I'm seeing very few folks go out there and win their match ups. Throw them all to the wolves. I'm sure RG3 will, yet again, run to twitter and talk about proving all his doubters wrong. He played terrible. The OL played terrible. Ryan Clark played Terrible.
Outside DeSean Jackson, Andre Roberts, Amerson, Breeland and Way. I don't see much on this team. I can deal with losses. I can't deal with beating ourselves as we do week in week out. The only thing I can count on with this team, is that at least once per game the defense will leave a receiver completely uncovered.
The talk just keeps the drama going. Turmoil inside the locker room, turmoil outside. I don't see the benefit. In the end talk just gets people fired.

And when we keep talking bout drama, it takes away from what I really want to know, what the fuck was haslet calling the second half of yesterday and how did we let a effing rookie WR tourch us multiple times. Shit I know rg3 needs to develop, but there is no excuse from the defense the second half. Haslet has to go, I'm done

Gruden holds the players accountable, publicly. Not sure that's the right way to go about it but he's being himself. I don't have a problem with it. Last year everyone complained that Shanahan lied and all, now we get a guy who tells the truth and isn't afraid to go after the owners pet. To me there's bigger things to worry about then what the coach says to the media.

by bringing the bullshit into the open then there is less drama. It is hard to troll the truth. Now he just needs to sit RG.3 and try to get the rest of the team back to buying in - which they were after Dallas; meaning he has to follow through. It might not be this week but it needs to be soon.
RG.3 needs to shut his mouth too. He is coming across as a spoiled baby every time he speaks to the press; no way grown men will follow that bullshit.
It is pretty clear to me....team fixes Captain Kirk and the Starship Interception (who ever used that first props and thanks)
McCoy comes in wins 2 games by not shitting his pants in the pocket, all looks well....
RGMe takes the helm and starts calling audibles in whinese and the team says @#$% you
That is a simple way to look at it, but I don't think it is far off....
Watch the press conference. His comments were completely misconstrued. He was asked about his 2012 campaign. In sticking with his modest demeanor he said that it was teamwork. In other words it was not all him. Than simply said that it has to be the same now in so many words. Nothing wrong with that at all. What did he say that sounded like a spoiled baby??
Edit: yes he has to play better - waaay better. However I have absolutely no problem with the post game stuff.....except the hat has to go.

What makes you so sure he will be a failure. There have been a lot of HOF coaches that looked like complete failures their first year... And then won a Super Bowl 2 years later.
It is too early to say anything about gruden. Allen however...

The team is trash whether or not gruden is honest with the media. Don't think the game could play any worst so any locker room issues won't really matter at this point. Let the man speak... Only entertaining aspect for the skins anyway.

Maybe Belichick fits that description, although what he started in Cleveland was pretty special. Not sure who else would fit your description?
I'm saying there's nothing special to point at with Gruden. Just the fact so many players are acting out says he doesn't command respect and lead the team. Not just RG, I'm talking about the locker room crap after the Vikes game. And the same crap translates to the field. Grudens team has been sloppy and unprepared almost every game. They don't play smart and they don't play hard.
His offense isn't impressive either. Not enough play action and pushing the ball down the field. So apart from him being likable and saying some clever things at the podium, what's he doing to earn this opportunity? Feels pretty similar to zorn. Are you glad we kept him for a 2nd season?

All I could think of was Eddie Murphy in Trading Places...
