My expectations: 7 straight wins, division champs.

Hey if we could do it once...

I honestly felt if the 'skins had taken care of business in Minnesota, They would have maybe dropped one more game (against the Colts) because the rest of the teams looked very beatable. Now since they obviously screwed the pooch against the Vikings, I don't know what to expect from them anymore.

My expectations are that the 'Skins PR folks will consistently f*** things up and, essentially, attempt to douse every spark of controversy with gasoline.

You know, I have to say that so far, I think Gruden is the right man for the job. I think he's trying to do everything he can to lessen all of the bull crap that seems to be associated with this team (off the field controversies, player favoritism, etc...) I think he really is a no nonsense coach. I also feel he has the tools and the ability to right the ship - BUT.....

I wonder if the world around him is going to allow him to do this. The media? The front office? The players? For once, I love having a coach who says that the best possible player is going to start - and that may not be the current starter. I love the idea that he is not sticking with RGIII no matter what in terms of the future for this team, even though I love RGIII. In the end, I want Gruden to build a winning program with a winning culture but in doing so, knowing that if it takes jettison the face of the franchise or a coach, or whoever it may be, I'm all for it. In the end, I'm more of a Washington Redskins fan than I am a fan of particular players. Sure, I have my favorites, but for the long term, my favorites are players who take care of business on the field.

My brain tells me 5-11
My gut tells me 6-10
My heart tells me 10-6

My brain tells me, RG3 can turn things around, but it's 50/50 at best that he'll pan out.
My gut tells me that he won't pan out.
My heart says he will become the elite QB he is supposed to be.

My brain tells me Haslett should go.
My gut tells me Haslett should go.
My heart tells me Haslett should go.

It's settled then. The front office says Haslett stays! :joecool:

I think we probably win another 2 games, maybe 3 at best -- so a losing record this season, but a marginal improvement over last season. Not what any of us had hoped for. But more than the record, I would like to see RGIII progress as a QB. If he can put up some solid numbers, develop more of a pocket presence and quick release, and we can see some added growth from the youngsters on the team -- to me, that's more important than wins and losses, as this season is basically lost anyway. If we win more than a couple of games, that's gravy to me at this point.

A shame. We have enough talent on this team to do better, I think (at least on offense). I still think we're about 3 players away from being a good team -- 2 OL, and 1 safety, although I am also thinking we need some DL help. But at the moment, we don't have superstars of sufficient caliber to mask the deficiencies on both sides of the ball.

At least our kicking game seems solid.

Forbath was surprisingly good on kickoffs against Minny.
