Today's game boiled down to Norv Turner out-coaching Haslett. Skins nearly had a shutout in the first half, then Turner made adjustments to which Haslett couldn't respond. Physically, the defense played well. Best tackling I've seen all year. I'm hesitant to criticize RG as Minnesota has a top tier defensive line and out pass protection is awful; plus it was Griff's first game back.
I feel like Haz didn't make any adjustments. Sometimes the defensive schemes are so bad I wonder if he's watching pre-game video to study what kind of schemes he needs to be calling against certain teams or if he just runs the same set every game and adjusts from there. Like, you're against Patterson and Jennings, they're no scrubs, they're fast guys! And for some reason, you're calling zone defenses so they can run right by the CBs? All these soft ass zones were ridiculous and leaving dudes wide open all over the field.
The secondary looked bad and confused, but the schemes Haz were calling weren't doing them any favors.

U score 26
D has to do their part, they did not
It's on them, and teams. No return game
not Roberts problem
Yes this game was on haslett. No doubt. Dude has been a loser his whole life. How he stays employed is one huge mystery. Especially through a coaching change the year after he breaks records for defensive ineptitude.
That being said, we gave up alot for Griff. The hope was he would be a top five qb. I have not seen that minus one 5 week run his rookie year. He has been hurt. I get it. He is in a new offense i get that. Those things have nothing to do with him continually holding the ball for too long. Where is your internal clock? Those things have nothing to do with a horrendous int before the half. You CANNOT make that throw. Take the ten point lead into the half. Those things have nothing to do with throwing the ball in the dirt on a 6 yard pass play and the SEASON on the line? There has to be accountability for those things. So like i said let him play the rest of the season. If those brain farts dont stop than I am done making excuses. Than it will be time to move on.

Goin into game I thought Bridgewater needed to have a good game to beat us. Was totally wrong. He played like crap mostly with missed throws, but still got the win. Skins were outcoached today in every phase of the game. Haslett called a soft game without any adjustments and Gruden was too pass oriented even with Morris balling.
What's most frustrating is watching this team outcoached season after season. Seems like the quality prospects just won't look at our team anymore. Maybe because of Snyder's past behavior? Or maybe because the FO sucks? Hard to say looking on the outside in.
I make no excuse for anybody. Robert will have the rest of the season to see who he is providing he is healthy. It's a reasonable question that if the D continues, do we really want Haz to lead it? A possible offseason question
But the O scored 26
D MUST get a stop when necessary......

That is what I keep thinking, 26 points against a good D should win you the game unless your D is worse.

Bridgewater missed some but overall I was very impressed. He actually climbs the pocket when he's pressured, has really nice footwork and keeps his eyes downfield. These are things Griffin is still struggling with.

Can't understand why it's so hard for Haslett to put together good back-to-back games. You just made Romo look average on Monday night then you let Teddy B look like Brady back there, with no pressure (what did they see on film that made Haz think blitzing wasn't an option?) at all in the second half. 26 points should be enough to win. And I can't figure out for the life of me how they didn't anticipate Asiata running the ball on the goal line. That's what he does. That's his thing. I know you have to anticipate Teddy B running the ball in those situations but you sure as hell can't ignore the bulldozing running ball that only appears in goal line situations.

It was bad enough having to work all weekend, brought the radio in to listen the game. Good grief the defense was bad, and Haz deserves most of the blame for the lose. Mystifying how the Skins can beat Dallas, yet, crash and burn against the Vikings again.

Couldn't rush the passer, couldn't protect our passer. Game set match

This is a great post and I agree with you on everything.
I have always felt that people come here to DC to get paid - not because they seriously believe they have a chance of winning / developing players, etc..
It's even tougher to be a coach here because you won't have total control of the offense and moves like today prove that the owner is going to tell you who you should play, even if you, as HC, feel otherwise...
