According to the washington times, one of the players who has already impressed gibbs is Tayler Jacobs. I think this is good news considering we did invest a 2nd round pick in him. If he reaches his potential we'll have a ton a talent at WR and more importantly we might have Rod Gardners replacement when his contract expires in two years. What are you guys thoughts.

Jacobs is a first round pick although he was picked in the second round. I hope we have some serious threat with our passing game this year. I also liked the bit about how the coaching staff looked at the top 5 passing and rushing teams in the league. They even said they'd have no problem with stealing plays from these teams. :)

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Jacobs was a steal where we got him. The kid is lightning fast. If we tell both Coles and Jacobs to run a fly, they'll both be wide open. He's a gifted receiver and I really think he deserves a shot. If it weren't for a rare injury, Jacobs might have been starting last year.

Can anyone else see a reformation of the Posse happening? Coles - Clark (without the attitude), Jacobs - Sanders, McCants - Monk (that may be a bit of a stretch at this point). And those guys never had a RB like Portis drawing the safeties in, either.
Champ Bailey said that Jacobs had the potential to be the BEST WR on the team. I've had confidence in Taylor's abilites ever since. He showed some of what he's got in the dallas game last year.
He could be one of those guys Gibbs was referring to when he was talking about guys that were on the bench last year that should have seen more time. Kevin Mitchell being another.

Good point i never thought about that. I though he was mostly referring to RB.

I hope Jacobs does turn out to be a viable threat. Im a huge Canes fan and becuase of it prefer not to have Gators, expecially with the Gators track record of subpar NFL receivers. Jacobs might be able to prove that one of Spurriers receivers can make it in the NFL, unlike Spurrier.

This is the news I've wanted to hear all offseason, since the speculation on McCants started. Anyone else think we can afford to lose McCants now? What about re-signing McCants and trading Gardner?
I know it's a long shot, but I hope we can do some trading to get both Winslow and Taylor - imagine 3rd down and 7 (rare I know with Portis runnnig) and the D sees Gardner, Coles, Taylor, Winslow and Portis lining up! I admit I'd rather see Taylor here, but that does look a lovely line up.

We see twice a year how much Shockey changes your defense. Our offense would be a threat.
As a Canes fan though, our offense sucked but they got the ball a lot becuase of Taylor. SO imagine not having Winslow, but having the ball once or twice more a game.
