Can't overpay for production, good teams would walk away. He is making superstar money on the 1 year tender. We'd have been a lot better off it that money was spent on 2 or 3 decent players. Maybe he will end up in DeAngelo Hall territory, where no one is interested in him except us.

As usual, excellent analysis by Keim:
Assessing Brian Orakpo's Washington Redskins career - ESPN (http://espn.go.com/blog/washington-redskins/post/_/id/12120/assessing-brian-orakpos-redskins-career)
pretty much my point. 6 forced fumbles in his career? this is his 6th season, 1 per year. that is so far from elite its ridiculous. he has forced 7 turnovers in his nfl career. rob jackson has 8 career forced turnovers...that puts that in perspective.

90% chance Orakpo is gone next year.
70% chance he signs in the NFC East.
50% chance he burns us at some point in the future.
Lol yup. Watch him go straight to Philly or NY, and then when Polumbus gets his job back by some miracle Rak will go ham on him, and make everyone go, "why the hell did we let him go?"
I think Rak could still be an effective player, but his best shot will be with a 4-3 team. He just ain't cutting it here.

Rak plays on the right side. He'd be facing Trent Williams. Name me a single time in his career he has beat a top LT for a sack. I'll be waiting.

I was against the Haynesworth signing, Suh is in shape and dominates everyone. How are the lions D doing?

Rak has not produced sacks as would be hoped or expected and is not elite. On the other hand, I am not "thankful" that it looks like a solid player will be moving on in the prime of his career. If it weren't for salary issues/expectations, Rak would be seen as a solid, but not spectacular, contributor to the defense.
If Rak were a former 7th round pick, we would be hoping to hold onto him at a reasonable price. I suspect that, just like D-Hall, Rak's absence will be felt beyond his immediate production.
I've always been a Rak supporter, but I've been frustrated with him ever since he said he had nothing to prove this year. And frankly he has had something to prove the entire time he has been here, and has never lived up to the 13th pick that was used on him, albeit mainly to injury.
I remember watching Orakpo and our current QB playing at Texas and wishing some way some how the Redskins would draft him. Then on draft day Al Davis saw Derius Heyward Bey's 40 time and the rest is history. Unfortunately now Orakpo has torn a pec for the third time in his sixth season.
I would love to have Orakpo here next year, it would be amazing. However the only way I am keeping him here is with a vet min deal with bonuses on the back end. If he wants any more than that which I'm sure he will, I'll pass.

I'm with you on Murphy. He's not shown it yet, and I have my doubts he ever will. I think he lacks the athletic ability to get the job done on the right side. He's better coming up the middle than on the sides.
The most immediate concern with Murphy is coverage. Romo and his Frankenstein TE will eat us alive this week.
Murphy didn't cover in college and his first match up is against a dude that makes veterans look bad.

I still can't see the FO's logic in letting Rob Jackson go only to take a chance on a draft pick, most 3-4 OLBs struggle rookie season. Jackson stepped in and made an impact at every opportunity.
Meanwhile RT doesn't get upgraded. BA hasn't been great in the personnel decisions and maybe the biggest thing holding team back. That and RG's injuries.
