the problem on D is pretty straight forward imo. we are idiots.

we heavily invested in pass rush at the expense of the secondary. we went all in on the pass rush banking on the fact that it would cover up our secondary deficiencies.

sans the jags game, every QB has posted a QBR above 100 on us and I dont think offensive coordinators are having much trouble dissecting haslett's schemes and tendencies.

$21.6 mil = avg NFL team salary for DL
$26.5 = redskins salary

$15 mil = avg NFL team salary for LB
$23 = redskins salary

$12.3 mil = nfl avg for corners
$7.8 = redskins corners (highest cap hit is tracy porter at 2.8)

$8.2 mil = nfl avg for safeties
$3.7 = redskins (highest merriweather at 1)

Something I find interesting is that our offense's average starting field position is on pace statistically to be the worst in the history of the NFL. Fact.

Alfred Morris is not running the ball enough....that's a large negative......he's just averaging 4.0 yards a carry......there's not enough talent along the o line.

So much wrong with this thread. We dont need to blow everything up but since day 1 its been about how far this offensive line will take us. We are seeing it now....

Really need to upgrade the whole right side.

What about off the field in the FO, would you consider a blow up there? I would be in favor of something done

I know httr24-7 on twitter said something along the lines of suggestions being made by Gruden have been over ruled by folks in upper management.

Thats a problem

i have to respectfully disagree my friend.

since day 1 it should have been about the O line (and FS imo)

but instead and in reality imo ...

since day 1 this team was built to win 43-41 by being aggressive on both sides of the ball.

on offense it was going to be 3 or 4 wide sets, using d jax to dictate coverage and open the middle and underneath for garcon and reed. pick your poison.

on defense, haslett was supposed to unleash the hounds and get after the QB by blitzing from all angles. we didnt need shut down corners, we only needed guys to be able to bump at the line and then play man for 3 seconds or less.

That doesn't even seem possible since we have Alfmo and a bunch of good receivers (heavy sigh).

We've converted 23 3rd downs out of 71 attempted. I'll be curious to see out of these 71 attempts, how many were 3rd and short.

Need to know more about that. He may have wanted more towels in the locker room, for all we know. Palace intrigue is always entertaining, though.

Me, too. It seems to me that we've been stopped on third and short more often than we were last season.

There is plenty to dislike about Haslett. I am not giving him a pass.

But to be fair, since DHall went down we don't have anyone who can really stick to #1 receivers. This is a really hard problem to scheme around.

The defense played well until DHall went down and then hasn't played all that well since.

And to be fair to your point Has and DHall looked good against Ryan Fitzpatrick and the Jags.

Everybody sprinkles in a little bit of poor play, and that results in 1-6. 1-5? What are we? 1-5? I'm losing track.
