KI Skins Fan 10-14-2014, 08:48 AM How dare you! The Florida Huskers or Tuskers or Whatevers had a great D! Great! Well atleast I think they did. Im not sure because I dont know who they are, but Haslett was there and he is amazing!
I apologize. Forget my previous post. Haslett is a great DC and if our defense is poor it is in no way attributable to the current DC. In fact, there is nobody on planet Earth who could do a better job than Jim Haslett.
Chico23231 10-14-2014, 09:17 AM I'm not sure that Haslett is the long term answer, but you can't say (with a straight face) that the defense is the biggest problem right now.
This game shouldn't have even been close, let alone a loss. Put this one on all things offense, but mostly KC and his poor performance for 75% of the game.
Yeah I dont put the game on him for sure, but just think in the big scheme of things probably time to go.
Chico23231 10-14-2014, 09:21 AM Is Sean McVay the right guy for the Skins? Is he the guy who turns RG3 into that pocket passer? I have my doubts

I have a t-shirt that says this exact same thing. Crazy.

Offense has been the biggest issue this season, yet no one is scrutinizing the offense because they are too busy bitching about the defense.
I personally question the offensive play calling in light of the fact that we have such weak offensive line. Teams are very aggressive in stopping the run and trying to disrupt the passing. I don't know why we don't throw more slants or screen passes to take advantage of the opposing defense's aggressiveness. It seems that the team waits until the late in the 3rd or 4th quarter, to throw a screen pass to Roy Helu that goes for like 40 yards. We also can't seem to convert 3rd and short situations, I know this past Sunday there were about two or three (maybe more) situations, where we couldn't convert in short yardage situations.

The offense doesn't get a pass, our OL is still terrible, Forster hasn't done anything to improve our young G and T (Bugel would have) we have a rookie OC finding his way. I question Forster.
Paintrain 10-14-2014, 10:13 AM The offense hasn't been consistently effective at all this season. Really, without Jackson's long touchdowns it would be borderline pathetic. A large part of that is definitely the weakness along the offensive line. Outside of Williams, everyone has played poorly. I truly hate looking towards Dallas with envy of any kind, but they have built a strong OL the right way. I've been an opponent of the 'WE MUST DRAFT OL EARLY' crowd every offseason but I am starting to see the errors of my ways. It's insane that other than Williams we haven't drafted an offensive lineman above the 3rd round in 15 years (Samuels & Jansen) and our 3rd round OL picks have been mediocre at best (Dockery, LeRiebust, Moses). That absolutely must be corrected.
Call me crazy but I will also put a lot of the offensive struggles on the fact that Griffin is hurt. He is far from perfect but the one thing he doesn't consistently do is hurt the team's chances to win. He doesn't have multiple turnover disasters like Rex Cousins does repeatedly. I hope these past few weeks will kill any of the discussion of a QB controversy going forward.
Defensively, Haslett is a clown. Some of the coverage 'schemes' are just incomprehensible. Watching the Seattle game, the first touchdown was a pass a Pop Warner QB could have thrown. CBs playing outside leverage in the slot with single high safety shaded towards the weakside of the formation? There was not even a move made and it was a simple go route and Baldwin was open by 12 yards. Hopefully we hire Wade Phillips as our DC for next year. He's a 3-4 master and a helluva coordinator.
Chico23231 10-14-2014, 10:17 AM I would take Wade or dream hire would be Rex Ryan at DC.

If he is related to the McVay football family that worked in Tampa Bay, that is all that is required of him. We are now Tampa Bay North, as if the Bucs have won anything in this century.
Note to Bruce Allen:
The Redskins are not a ****ing coaching family reunion!!!
EARTHQUAKE2689 10-14-2014, 12:57 PM The funny thing is, the offense that Seattle runs now is exactly what we ran in 2012 with a few wrinkles added, but we got people talking about the Wilson blueprint. Even more hilarious is that we have more weapons on offense than Seattle does or at worst just as much, but this tea is delicious.
