calia 10-08-2014, 03:46 PM Very troubled by the apparent indifference to losing among some players, although I cannot believe that it is pervasive through the locker room. You don't get to be good enough to play in the NFL without a lot of sacrifice and a real competitive streak. That isn't to say that folks can't get complacent with the "hey, I am a professional getting a paycheck" mentality. But there are some guys I cannot imagine bieing OK with losing.
I had a lacrosse coach years ago that sat some starters when he thought there was some of this crap seeping into the locker room culture (our team was not competitive in more games than I care to recall); it wouldn't break my heart of Gruden did too.
over the mountain 10-08-2014, 03:54 PM that great quote from lombardi comes to mind.
i dont mind the loose locker room after a loss. its not the cause of our problems, its just a symptom.
i dont blame trent or garcon or anyone else who has been here to become immune from losing.
we lose and we lose well and often damnit.

Didn't Lombardi also say, "Show me a good loser, and I'll show you a loser"? Well....
SouperMeister 10-08-2014, 04:39 PM Just embarrassing that we let them score on a big play, Seattle gets penalized for something that really had no effect, and then we let them go right down and score again.
But this game was against one of the best teams in the league. Any positives we can get out of this game are positives indeed. Probably the most obvious one is that Cousins protected the football against a great defense.I love that we lined up DJax on Sherman's side, and exploited that big mouth on a couple of occasions. Eddie Royal and the Chargers showed that a big corner like Sherman lacks the quickness to lock down very fast/quick receivers, and I'm glad that Gruden and Cousins didn't shy away from throwing the ball to the right side of the field.
SmootSmack 10-08-2014, 04:51 PM That's how I feel. Why should I care about the team when the folks on the field care about nothing but the after party?
This team will not win until it has more leaders who hate losing.
With rare exception, players don't like losing. But they have to move quickly on to the next game

OK. Fair enough. But we seem less than energized on the field, so rumors of a limp locker room appear to make sense.
KI Skins Fan 10-08-2014, 06:31 PM When I am able to pick out individual players who are hustling, as I was against Seattle in the first half, then we have a a problem. Somehow, we were not ready to play and they put up a quick 14 points on us - Game Over! BTW, Ryan Clark was one of those who hustled against Seattle. I think he was just trying to cover for other players in his comments.
Anyway, I hate interviews with losing players. I'm not listening to anything more that anybody in the Redskins organization has to say until we get a win.
skinsfan69 10-08-2014, 06:53 PM This team has now lost 12 of 13, won 3 last year and the rest of this season looks bad. They've probably become use to losing. I give both guys a pass. Garçon always plays hard as does Trent. We don't know what was being said in the locker room. And to be honest, reporters IMO should not be reporting what guys are doing in the locker room. This is one reason why they shouldn't be in there. Seems kind of weak to me.
I think this is being blown out of proportion just a bit, as usual. Nobody likes losing, but I don't think there's anything wrong with being proud of putting up your best fight in doing so. Guys are playing hard, we couldn't say that last year. I believe we're close to rattling off some wins. The players have to hang their hats on something in order to keep marching on.

Skins fans.......overeacting?
Listen to Kerrigan on the post. When asked the question. He responded that he did not remember anybody tdaking the loss lightly fwiw. I do not think they believe it was nothing. I have no problem with them taking some solace in the fact that the team..... Fought they're guts out
