Going back to last year I think Kelly and the Eagles are well established as an offensive powerhouse.
Our SecondaryMTK 09-24-2014, 12:31 PM Going back to last year I think Kelly and the Eagles are well established as an offensive powerhouse. Defensewins 09-24-2014, 01:18 PM They are a solid offense but rankings don't mean anything this early. They've played 3 shitty defense. If they light up SF for 37pts then i will be impressed. Did you miss the part of my post of the stats from last season? skinsfan69 09-24-2014, 01:58 PM What was so disappointing about giving up 30 points was we contained both McCoy and Sproles. Riley got exposed, Macklin and the rookie just abused us. Not sure putting Merriweather in there was a good idea as he'd been out for a few weeks, but there was no other option. Thomas and Rambo have turned out to be bad draft picks as neither have contributed anything at all. skinsfan69 09-24-2014, 02:00 PM The Eagles are currently the #2 ranked offense in the NFL in scoring and #3 overall. Redskins are coming off a 3-13 season and our defense was terrible in 2013. QB Nick Foles and Chip Kelly's offense is very good and well respected. Found this: In Week 9 of 2013 Nick Foles became the second NFL quarterback to post a perfect passer rating (158.3) while passing for more than 400 yards, and the first NFL quarterback to post a perfect passer rating and throw seven touchdowns in a single game. Foles holds the best TD-INT ratio in the NFL with 27 touchdown passes and only 2 interceptions which he accomplished during the 2013 season, This has to factor into it a little bit. While I am disappointed our defense did not play better, we were playing a very good offense and QB. Time to start giving Foles the respect he deserves. He's a pretty damn good QB. EARTHQUAKE2689 09-24-2014, 02:20 PM Time to start giving Foles the respect he deserves. He's a pretty damn good QB. Yeah I have been reluctant to do so, but the man is good, and tough as well. In the second half he was getting hit left and right, gotta see if his body can keep up that kind of toughness getting smacked every week with that O Line in shambles. BaltimoreSkins 09-24-2014, 02:33 PM Time to start giving Foles the respect he deserves. He's a pretty damn good QB. They have nothing but love for him in Philly and that is a rare thing. jamf 09-24-2014, 02:36 PM Did you miss the part of my post of the stats from last season? No, but that was last year. I said they are a good offense but I wouldn't go as far as matty did and call them a power house(this year). They are missing their best deep threat and there is a year of game film on them. Spoles helps but I want to see them play a team with a defense that isn't historically bad like the skins and jags. calia 09-24-2014, 02:40 PM Yeah I have been reluctant to do so, but the man is good, and tough as well. In the second half he was getting hit left and right, gotta see if his body can keep up that kind of toughness getting smacked every week with that O Line in shambles. Foles is the real deal. Sunday's game confirmed that in my mind. Our D was disappointing. Period. It wasn't like we turned the ball over and put them in a bad position, or had crappy punts that put them in a bad position. (In fact, Way has been stout -- best punter we've had (so far) in a while.) 30 points on sustained drives; that doesn't happen to good defenses, and we're not there yet. The injuries are rough, and exposing the lack of depth. Cofield, Hatcher (hopefully it is mild), Nield -- if Baker gets hurt, we're screwed in the middle. Ihenacho, Hall, Thomas -- all tough injuries in the secondary; two guys out for the year, another sufficiently dinged up that we stashed him on the practice squad. KI Skins Fan 09-24-2014, 02:46 PM Thomas and Rambo have turned out to be bad draft picks as neither have contributed anything at all. Thomas may still turn out to be alright. SmootSmack 09-24-2014, 02:47 PM Yeah I have been reluctant to do so, but the man is good, and tough as well. In the second half he was getting hit left and right, gotta see if his body can keep up that kind of toughness getting smacked every week with that O Line in shambles. There was a time not too long ago when we had an OC here who dreamed of Peyton Manning as the QB with Foles learning under him for 2-3 years. But that was then, and this is now |
