WillH 09-24-2014, 08:20 PM Hi. You're making it awfully hard for me to troll. I guess I just don't have it in me. I'm just too decent a human being. Oh well
No no . . . You did fine. It's just you have a good reputation. That is why I even said anything. It didn't seem like you. Sorry for messing that up though. Maybe troll a giants board?
DYoungJelly 09-24-2014, 08:22 PM To add to my earlier post, just don't feel confident that this franchise will make the right choice in terms of picking the best QB. Hopefully, someone, either Griffin or Cousins steps up in such a big way that it is self evident who the franchise QB is.
There is still time and a contract option to pick up before a decision has to be made.
First year in a new offense is a big deal when split second pre and post snap decisions and reads have to be made. I'm comfortable keeping both qb's until one creates some separation.
los panda 09-24-2014, 08:23 PM cousins is the hot dawg right now, i have complete faith in him.
skinsfan69 09-24-2014, 09:06 PM Well that's silly, certainly I cannot prove a statement that is not based in facts wrong or right. If you are saying it is a fact that athlete's can't be smart I'm sure there are plenty of examples to the contrary. If you are saying prove RG3 is intelligent, well that's a bit subjective isn't it? What proof do you have that I can try to respond to?
Now, I don't know that RG3 can learn to change his style of play, but I don't think that has anything to do with his intelligence. In any field I'm sure their are people that are excellent at one thing, but can never learn other aspects of the job, or different approaches. People get used to what works for them, and sometimes it's really hard to break those tendencies. In RG3's case, it's hard to adjust your game when you can't stay healthy enough to even be on the field, and personally i think that is more to the crux of this matter.
It has nothing to do with intelligence. Obviously RG3 is a very smart guy. It's more instincts IMO. What came natural for Griffin is what we ran in 2012. I don't think I've seen Griffin get under center and take a 5-7 step drop (w/out any play action) since he's been here.
44Deezel 09-24-2014, 09:18 PM Watch me get my Dwight Schrute on...
False. There is no evidence qb's can only get better after 5 starts in the NFL. Just for shits and giggles, anyone remember Billy Volek? If memory serves, he had back to back 400 yard games for the Titans, and then went on to be a journeyman backup. Anyways, my only point is there is no reason to believe Cousins can only get better from here.
Also, if I may, why do you think Cousins can only get better from here? Do you not feel the same way about RG3? Say what you want about his injuries but there's no way he calls it a career or decides to accept anything less than a starting job when he gets fully healthy.
Honestly I have no idea what road we're going to go down when both RG3 and Cousins are healthy. Anything is possible, especially in the winning-centric NFL. But I think the odds are just as good that we might've seen Cousins' career highlight game last week as they are that he will win a starting job somewhere once this "tryout" is over.
While there are no guarantees, there are far more examples of young QBs who got better with more playing time than worse. Kirk may have peaked, but odds are he hasn't. Your examples are more the exception than the rule.
SmootSmack 09-24-2014, 09:24 PM The problem with trolling is that the fish don't always bite.
For realz tho
KI Skins Fan 09-25-2014, 11:07 AM Dear Coach Gruden:
I've been reading this thread on The Warpath and I regret to inform you that I learned there is absolutely nothing you can do to improve the quarterbacks on your team.
I was told by some guy from Wenatchee Falls that RGIII can never again be healthy nor can he ever learn to play QB at the pro level.
Also, this kid from Kalamazoo informed me that Kirk Cousins has peaked as a QB and he can never get any better than he is right now.
Based on these observations from actual football fans, I recommend that you give up on both Griffin and Cousins. You can, at least, save some money by eliminating all of your medical, rehabilitation, training, and coaching staffs. All of these support people are useless to you now that the fates of these young QB's have been determined by a couple of guys who post on a message board.
I'm sorry I had to deliver this bad news but I thought you needed to know that your QB situation is hopeless before you invest any more time, effort, and money on these losers.
Your friend,
KI
