Defensewins 09-19-2014, 12:37 PM Of course there is more to Cousins body of work than the game I mentioned. If you read my previous remark in context, you'll see that I was responding to a specific statement from another post.
So let's go to that body of work and look at career numbers for Cap'n Kirk:
9 games
74.3 QBR
57.6% completions
6.7 ypa
10 / 10 TDs/INT
Last year Cousins' interception % of 4.5 was one of the worst in the league. For comparison, Eli Manning's was 4.9% and he led the league in picks.
According to ESPN RGIII QBR in in 2013 was 40.1
In 2014 it was 36.1
Evilgrin 09-19-2014, 12:37 PM This team isn't that great on paper.... quite a few teams with better rosters.
Chico23231 09-19-2014, 12:53 PM its a new year, new coaching staff and the "what have you done lately" is more important. I think the team confidence is high coming off the win and I think the offense believes in Cousins and RG3. We are lucky to have 2 young QB who are solid. I think if you ask the Philly coaches who are game planning, they can see alot of guys on the skins offense who can hurt you. Cousins, Grant, and Niles Paul all are depths guys who put a lot of good things on film last week. I think the Eagles are going to have their hands full.
over the mountain 09-19-2014, 01:01 PM Griffin mostly did a good job anticipating where pressure was coming from, coaches say, and making adjustments. It’s an area Cousins is still adapting to as one sack revealed Sunday when the Jaguars sent an overload to the Redskins’ right. Cousins didn’t see it, was sacked and the Redskins were taken out of field-goal range. Coaches say Cousins must improve here, but for the most part they feel that even if this is the case he usually knows where to go and what to do. It'll be a key against Philadelphia on Sunday.

a good write up by Keim of what cousins and rg3 do well and differently. nothing unknown to anyone here but i did quote the top paragraph bc this is the 2nd time i have heard RG3 does well with pre-snap reads and cousins needs to improve. when i see cousins, i see him calling out the mike and being a lot more vocal at the line pre-snap vs RG3 who seems to never shift protection and seems oblivious (sometimes) to clear blitzes.
Evilgrin 09-19-2014, 01:06 PM I dunno Keim knows his stuff pretty well.

This.
Defensewins 09-19-2014, 01:43 PM His injury is not as serious as people want to make it out to be. Chill, his injury is the equivalent of shooting a jump shot and landing on someone's foot. your ankle rolls. HE will be in a cast 10 days.
That is not correct. Rolling an ankle and dislocating are two different things. Dislocation is an extreme version of a sprain that makes the joint give way. Rolling your ankle is much less of an injury and you can be back in a few weeks. Dislocation can take a month or more if ligaments are torn. Something nobody has confirmed.
DeSean Jackson sprained his AC joint in his left shoulder. He will be week to week. If he had dislocated his shoulder he would we out 4 to 8 to 12 weeks.
Everyone heals at a different rate.
Once you dislocate a joint like an ankle or knee that supports all of your weight, that joint becomes loose and more prone to further injury. Rehab will help but the joint will never be 100% as strong it was before the injury. Add two ACL's to to that.

How that gets twisted into you telling me, "no this other game wasn't in relief!!!" rather than address that Kirk has had other good games....

I was hoping for the coaches to help KC out there and just run Helu up the middle and take the 3 points to end the half. There really wasn't enough time there for a TD and I think Gruden got greedy there. But you're right, KC needed to know the situation and not taken a sack and just thrown it away. In a tighter game that could've come back to haunt them.
