NFL is saying they requested, but never got to see this video. They based punishment off the exterior footage plus interviews.
That's bullshit. Did the prosecutor not have the video? Something fishy, not making any sense

If the Ravens are the righteous organization some of their fans claim to be, they should suspend him further. This is just sickening.

Wow. He sure gave her a nasty left hook. Now we see why she was on the ground. Dude should be suspended for a year. What I don't understand is why Merriweather got two games over questionable hits in a pre season game, and Rice knocks out his GF and gets the same penalty. The people in the NFL front office should be ashamed of themselves over this.

Fuck Goodell and the Ravens organization for allowing this charade to go on. The NFL first defended the two game suspension, and the Ravens did nothing but support Rice even though both of these parties have seen this video.
It's sickening that Goodell said it was her testimony that was the deciding factor. Well, we can see clear as day her testimony was a crock of shit because she didn't do anything in that video that warranted her being knocked out. In fact, it was Rice that was the instigator here.
The only reason the NFL is put out this bullshit "I got it wrong" statement is because of the public backlash. They don't give a fuck about women or anything for that matter unless it's money.

To me, the prosecutor has more to answer for. The police had this video, so I can only imagine he saw it. If he didn't he really isn't doing his job. I don't see how you can give Rice the lightest punishment possible, then let him work to have it expunged.
I can almost forgive the NFL, because you can say they based their punishment on the first video and interviews. I am sure in the interviews Rice and his wife played it down and/or lied.
But there is no excuse for the prosecutor.
I don't know if they can now that the NFL has named a punishment. THe NFLPA would appeal for sure. Had Ravens stepped up first, maybe.
They certainly could cut him.

I heard, and this from months ago, and I believe this is from the horses mouth Goodell, that they had access to all evidence from the prosecutor and the police. That they shared all their information with NFL. So someone is lying
The entire thing is just effed up. How a guy can knock out a woman on camera and be walking free is just unbelievable.
If the video really is new evidence to the league, they sure as hell better re-open their investigation and look to add 4 games to that suspension.

totally agree.
Ray Rice was before this superman around b-more. Both for on-field and off field achievements. I think that played a role in his sentence. It should not have though.
I would bet a million that is not the first he has hit a woman. Most domestic attackers are serial beaters.
