I think it was his big play potential and Jamaal Charles cutting ability that had everyone having internet orgasms but I agree with you, while I wanted to see him stick around, as of now we havent lost anything with him not being here. Silas is the better RB.

Agreed, and I am happy that we have Silas. But he is not electric. It would be helpful to have a Sproles-like explosive player in the backfield on offense.

Yes, Lache is raw and incompetent as a blocker. But I think he is a keep-and-develop guy. I hope we get him back.

I saw that the browns claimed one RB but haven't heard who, wouldn't be surprised to see Royster or Seastrunk.

Neither.

@RapSheet

The #Browns did end up finding another RB. I'm told they claimed Glenn Winston, who played for #49ers and Michigan St

It'd be awesome to see Seastrunk get through waivers and get claimed by us.

And yay Nick Williams is still a Redskin! All is right in DRave world.

Cannot believe the grief over Lache. I mean yeah, he's fast. However, every report said he was raw, couldn't block, and was not a pass catcher. Please folks. He was a 6th round pick for a reason. Not like his speed was a secret before the draft.

There is a difference between fast and explosive. Chris Thompson is fast but not explosive. In fact, Chris Thompson doesn't impress me at all.

Seastrunk is explosive. I know it when I see it and it is rare. I certainly hope we sign him to the PS and try to develop him.

Sorry, I have become more and more convinced Seastrunk is a one-trick pony. A liability in 3rd and long unless the draw or screen goes his way. When he is in, ball either goes to him or he is a non-factor. That's the kind of player that, at best, gets taken out of games and, at worst, gets exploited, by the defenses in the regular season.

Yes, he has rare jets ... but that's it folks. There ain't no more. Tydus Winans anyone?

I agree but at the same time you don't have to have that explosive guy. It's nice but not needed. Helu is fast and we have seen moments of his explosiveness. To be fair how many carries would Seastrunk and Thompson have gotten with 1,300 yard rusher Morris and Helu in front of them?

To whomever said Thompson wasn't impressive, I partially agree, I don't agree that he isn't explosive though.

Sproles had trouble blocking when he entered the NFL, too. He learned and became more complete.

Joe is right that the defense, right now, could key on Lache. But if we snuck him in just one or two plays a game, he might catch defenders napping and hit a home run.

Put this differently: backs tend to burn out quickly, even when on committees. You can't have enough young, fresh legs.

Lache is a home run hitter; tough to find those types.

Seriously? How can you possibly know this after 3 preseason games?

The Flash is a rare prospect because of his speed, and by extension, his big play ability. If Seastrunk is foolishly denied a chance here, which won't happen, another team will sign him and give him a chance. He may be raw right now, but then again, he was a 6th rounder. No reason for him to play right away.

Aldrick Robinson is a great example. He was nothing but speed at first, but given time, he's developed into a solid all-around depth receiver.

Probably knows it the same way others know he has that flash/explosion after running an 80yd screen in the 4th quarter of the final preseason game against the Buccaneers grocery bagging crew.

No one is sure of anything really but the coaches saw a whole lot more of him then any of us did and they went with an undrafted rookie.
One thing is for sure Lachesis Seastrunk won this year's camp hero award hands down (sorry DRave, NWilliams was a distant 2nd)
