The RB caused it by lowering his head at the last instant. Not Brandon's fault.

I agree but when heads collide he's not going to get the benefit of the doubt.

The hit Swerenger got on Welker was worse. Welker lowered HIS head and Swerenger hit him with his shoulder pad and still got flagged. These rules now have gotten so out of hand it's ridiculous. It's not even football anymore.

Cousins is further along in the process than Robert is when it comes to reading defenses and going through the progressions. He's had four full years at college of training, watching film, and playing to get it down correct. Robert on the other hand ran a fast paced no huddle offense that wasn't based on reading defenses. Cousins generally makes the correct read, but his throws are inconsistent. His upside is nowhere close to what Robert could achieve if he masters the pro-style offense. He's still a long ways off from doing so.

This is why I generally am not in favor of drafting these types of QBs so high without at least sitting them on the bench for a couple years to learn. Throwing them out to sink or swim generally ends up in a sinking situation. Especially when they have little to no experience with a pro-style offense.

The one thing that makes me chuckle is the lack of patience with fans. Most of you guys would have been calling for the backup had you been San Diego fans back in 2003. That would have been Drew Brees third year in the league that finished up with 2,100 yards, 11TDs, and 15 INTs.

On the other coin, you have the fans trying to turn back to clock as if Robert is somehow a rookie. He's not. This is his third year in the league so stop making excuses. New offense? So what. Still his third year. I say Robert should get a pass this entire year and if he doesn't get it done, you open the position up to competition next off-season.

One thing that I think is problematic is Robert is a bit entitled due to his draft status and stellar 2012 year. He hasn't had to really earn it like he should be. Robert also needs to ditch social media and focus on becoming the best QB he can possibly be. He's listening to too much media and has started to respond to criticisms. That's not what I want from a starting QB. He can be fan friendly when he's become a complete QB.

Please, don't let the below be the one thing you walk away from this post. If so, please smack yourself. Thanks.

For the record, it doesn't matter how RGIII or any of the Rams selections turns out. They won that trade the moment it happened. There is no discussion to this because the value simply didn't add up, especially with a team that lacked so many pieces.

In what possible world does this make sense? So based on this logic if, hypothetically, the Redskins go on to win 4 Super Bowls in RGIII's career and he becomes a Hall of Famer and the Rams continue to be, well, the Rams, then they still won the trade because they got better 'value'? Man I miss when football was football and not some bastardized version of calculus.

Draft picks are pretty much like lottery tickets. It's all a gamble and I'm a numbers man. I don't think you'll EVER see another trade of that magnitude in the NFL again. I don't think anybody outside of us and the Browns would have made that move.

Also, one player isn't going to win you a Super Bowl on his own.

St. Louis does not want Kirk, they want Sanchez.

The people who are desperate to declare a winner in the RGIII trade just need to give up. Or at least those that want to declare St. Louis the "winner". The Rams haven't really drafted an impact player and mow they're staring at a season without a QB.

This is exactly why I stated the "winner" is whoever walks away with the highest value at the time of the trade. Everything else is hindsight and it all depends on who's making those draft picks. Would we be saying the same if Ozzie Newsome was the one drafting or Pete Carroll? The picks are irrelevant because they may not be used to their fullest. At the time, the value for the move up was largely in favor of the Rams, and this is the only reason I stated a "winner".

Out of all that stuff I said, the trade bit is brought to focus more than all the other things I've said. Maybe I should go back and edit it out.

Sanchez would be a horrible choice. They'd be better off with Colt McCoy than with Sanchez.

Do you think Ponder might be able to help them?

That is true. But it is also true that the lack of one player can keep you from winning a Super Bowl.
