Ryan Clark also said he didnt care, nobody cares, its football. Something very similar to that. Trash talking has been around forever and its part of the game. I really dont think it rattled him - he was already playing like crap. The whole thing with him flipping off the Redskins bench is really blown out of proportion. What is going to rattle him is when he gets his ass planted in the turf- the same thing that rattles any other qb. It all boils down to skill set and ability and it is way to early to tell if he will have what it takes to make it in the league.
Dude he was rattled, he admitted as much. He said he lost his composure.

He was basically apologizing for making an obscene gesture on tv. Do you really think the comments/finger changed his game? If he alluded to that than it was because his other option was to say he was plain n simply stinking up the joint.

He said he did a good job holding his composure all nite and had a lapse in judgement and slipped up. In other words sorry good holy people of America for doing that on tv. Lol.
Edit: im not denying that he was rattled, just debating why. I dont believe it was name calling - I believe it was the Skins sacking his ass and the speed of an NFL D. The finger was just extra - Ryan Clarke basically said as much.
Otherwise known as he lost his cool, came undone, or was rattled. Not sure what else you call it. They guy is immature as evident by his on and off the field behavior. Not exactly a leader or what you expect from a 1st rd pick. When Johnny doesn't get his way he throws a tantrum.

But he didnt throw a tantrum. Ryan Leaf threw a tantrum. Ryan Leaf showed the world he was a strait up head case that couldnt handle being an nfl qb. Manziel is a smug cocky punk, but not a head case. Even when he flipped off the bench, he was headed back to the huddle, and getting back in the game, and was like oh by the way eff off. Does he have the physical skill set to make it in this league? I dont know. However I dont see it as a Ryan Leaf thing at all.
Tantrums come in many different sizes. Doesn't have to be a full-blown meltdown like Leaf. Johnny got upset he was playing like shit and all the trash talk got to him. You can bet other teams are taking notes.

Agreed- but due to the fact that it wasnt really a "melt down" im just holding off on saying he doesnt have what it takes mentally to be a player/leader in this league. Sirius radio was just talking about him and Leaf as a matter of fact and pointed out that Leafs teammates didnt like the guy from day one. I think the Manziels teammates do like him and that speaks volumes about whats actually inside a guys head. As opposed to what outsiders think is in his head. Time will tell.

Redskins safety Ryan Clark appeared on Mike & Mike Tuesday and claimed to know (what prompted Johnny Manziel to flip off the bench).
"I can tell you what the statement was that set him off. The statement was … This isn't college any more and these people are faster than you are," Clark said. "He didn't like it. That was me cleaning up the statement but that's pretty close to what it was."
I think Manziel would be better served staying in the pocket and using his athleticism Aaron Rodgers style. RG probably should too, instead of crossing the LOS so much, but at least he has the speed to beat defenders to the edge and then outrun them. I think Manziel is probably a little better than RG at shaking a defender one-on-one, but he just doesn't have RG's elite speed.
I think Manziel has the physical tools to succeed in the NFL, but if he doesn't mature really fast and start playing smart, he's gonna get killed in this league. He's not a big dog or the best athlete on the field anymore... he's probably just a little brat to most of these guys.
