Sucks for Bowen.

Good for the organization though I suppose.

I assume they took less of a hit to restructure his contract than they would have by cutting him. He has underperformed his contract from Day 1. Since Baker and Jenkins seem to have improved, I doubt that management still thinks they need him.

Totally agree.....he needed a pay cut due to his performance.

With Baker and Jenkins emerging and Hatcher signed, Bowen definitely won't be a starter, but I think he can still be a key part of the line rotation if healthy, especially against the run.

7 million was outrageous for his play the past few seasons. Taking a reduction probably saved his skin.

Knew Bowen was a bust when they signed him, he's lucky to be on the team and wouldn't expect shit from him this year and in the future

Have to believe this foreshadows Bowen staying on PUP for the first six weeks of the regular season.

I find it slightly relieving to know that our organization has reached a point where it not only wants to restructure contracts for underperforming players, but that it actually has had some success in doing so. It's not the MO of the team under Snyder's first decade. It's... refreshing.

I hope Bowen becomes the player we thought he would be. We really, really need pressure on the D line.

Good point. He'll need to get in football shape, anyway, so he might as well be on the PUP to start the season.

Certainly makes the pay cut discussion a lot easier, if Bruce Allen is able to say "Look, you and I both know you're not healthy and will not be able to play for the first several weeks."
