Here's how I see it.

On the surface it's easy to say this is just another whine session from LaVar. Partly it is. On the other hand, he's frustrated over his injury, and rightfully so. He's a passionate guy who wants nothing more than to be on the field, he's missed alot of time and could possibly miss more, so of course he's upset and wants to vent.

LaVar is the kind of player that needs a pat on the back once in a while. He's frustrated by being a spectator and he wants to be in the middle of the action (and the attention).

I wouldn't look too far into this latest "episode". Gibbs will talk him down, LaVar will come out and say how much he loves the Redskins and the fans and it will blow over with time.

Nothing will come of it, he's not going to be traded or cut, there's simply no way to get around his cap figure, and frankly I don't see this as the kind of thing that will put a huge divide between him and the team.

He's pissed and frustrated and he's letting it be known because he didn't make the headlines when he had the surgery last week. Perhaps the staff wanted to keep things quiet as to not make a scene or a big deal (out of what sounds like a relatively minor knee scope), but LaVar is taking care of that himself quite nicely.

LaVar is a passionate guy so he is obviously going to show his frustration. He always wants to be the best and when he is slowed by injury it pisses him off. It seems like the injury was more serious than it was played out to be. I remember last season he was supposed to be back after the bye week. If it has kept him out this long it was obviously more serious then a bad sprain. He will be back when he is ready and show why he is worth the contract he has. The most important quote in that whole article that made him look like he didn't give a shit about anyone but himself....." It never ceases to amaze me the things that go on here, but I'm here and I still love the Redskins. That's the bottom line." :headbange

He's starting to sound like the TO gang-banger type.

Count me in as nervous.

Does this mean Offiss and I get one nail taken out of the crosses we were put up on?

aehs - There's no way he's leaving. His contract is too massive to move. Not like anyone would traded for damaged goods anyways...

LaVar is a good player but he likes running his mouth of like a great player. Little does he realize that it is his job to work his butt off to get back on the field ASAP.

I've lost 75% respect I had for him. If he leaves tomorrow I wouldn't be concerned one bit.

If I remember right, Lavar wanted to hurry back and get on the field and he said the coaches wanted him to take it slow and easy to get back and he said he was ready to go but the coaches wanted him to take more time now hes singing a different tune.

That is what is so funny to me about the article. Everyone knows that Lavar pushes himself to fight through these injuries and come back ahead of schedule. This fact did not start with this coaching staff. He is a great player that wants to prove himself so badly but is hurt and wants to blame someone. He is frustrated. When he gets back on the field, things will be better. I really don't care if they walk him through practices until mid-August. Thats 4 months more to recover from a surgery that he proclaimed would only hold him out for 2 weeks.
