CrustyRedskin 07-24-2014, 12:00 PM Report: Raiders' DJ Hayden still has foot injury - NFL.com (http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000367932/article/report-raiders-dj-hayden-still-has-foot-injury)
Big fan of DJ Hayden coming out, but his career has been an injury disappointment so far.
Is there something about this Ray Rice deal that I'm missing? Such as, his wife actually beat the crap out of him and he just got one lucky swing in on the way down? Because getting suspended 2 games for knocking his GF out when other players get suspended 4 games for smoking weed once and indefinite suspensions for being a "repeat offender" is just mind-numbingly stupid. WTF is the NFL trying to say? "For all you kids at home, we believe that punching women is a better form of entertainment than smoking weed?" I don't get it.
And Greg Williams got gang banged for bounty hunting. Jeeeeeeeeze

Just to point out, if you get caught smoking weed once by the NFL, its not even reported. Anyone getting a suspension for weed has been caught twice.
Also, I understand the NFL suspending players for off field issues. But the courts need to be front and center when it comes to spousal abuse. When we are relying on the NFL (or any other professional sports league) to police America, we have lost our priorities. If the state of NJ sent ray Rice to jail for a year, would anyone be complaining about a 2 game suspension? The courts have got to do more when it comes to these things.
Editing to add: The NFL still has to follow the CBA when it comes to punishment. Can the NFL actually suspend Ray Rice for a year? I could be wrong, but I dont think they could even if they wanted to. The players union has a role in this as well.
CrustyRedskin 07-24-2014, 12:11 PM Im sure Goodell and the NFL stepped in and offered some type of deal. Cover up
Somebody got paid. Can't believe TMZ didn't hump the right leg to get a copy of that.

Fair enough. Still man, it's weed.
I really hadn't thought about that side of it, but if the NFLPA wouldn't agree to year-long or indefinite suspensions for a player like Rice who copped out of aggravated assault charges, why would they turn around and allow those long suspensions for something minor like smoking weed? I don't know... I think the NFL could have done more.

Former Redskin Fred Davis wanted for domestic violence assault - DC News FOX 5 DC WTTG (http://www.myfoxdc.com/story/26094255/ex-redskin-wanted-in-domestic-violence-assault)
JoeRedskin 07-24-2014, 01:06 PM ^^ I've heard Davis talk and read some of his comments. From what I can tell, he is, quite literally, dumber than dirt.

Because that's what they negotiated in the CBA. There is a set policy for drugs and PEDs, not so much one of behavior off the field. (assaults/DUIs/etc) That's why they can argue for a year long suspension for a player beating his girl, but they don't argue for a player caught 4 times smoking weed.

Either that or he just doesn't care. Or maybe both
