I'm amazed that some fans are already willing to give up just because they're tired of hearing about this issue.
Are you really willing to let this vocal minority win out with little to no new evidence than what was presented 15 years ago when this last happened?
If we roll over on this what's next?
Isn't 80 years of tradition worth fighting for?

Listened to Czaben on the way in and he called the people who support but think its coming regardless as "matter-of-timers" and surrenders. Stated this is worth fighting for and think quietly the NFL will make all resources available for the fight and will back Snyder 110%. Because once the Skins go away, the Chiefs are next in line.
Baseball and NCAA are all watching this closely.
Lilman52 06-19-2014, 10:22 AM According to the Indians fighting against the name, they claim that they are all offensive. They are going after every name that involves Indians. They stopped targeting the other names because it was hurting their cause with redskins, but they claim all sports names with Indian mascots are derogatory to Indians. According to Susan Blackhorse, they needed one name to fall, then the rest would go like dominoes.
Also, if its about skin color, then the state of Oklahoma needs to change its name. As Oklahoma translates out to "Red People" or "People with red skin".
Personally, until that happens, get off our backs

I think once the NFL loses money, they will make the Skins change the name. This is the first decision is the first step that will see a decrease in profit for the NFL, making the NFL and Snyder try to challenge the decision, but if they fail I see no way the NFL allows the name to remain the same.

Agree wholeheartedly. The controversy will never go away. But the only way the name will change is if the courts make Danny change it. Just hunker down, tune it out, and let due process play its course.
If anything, all this squawking just makes me dig in my heels further, even more insistent than ever on keeping our terrific name.

how would the nfl lose money?

They wouldn't, unless the court upholds the trademark cancellation. Which it won't.

I agree. But this is what our society has become. Our courts are tied up on issues like this, while there is plenty of offensive things being shown on television that is in the name of "art" and "free expression" - such as profanity laced shows, music, nudity, realistic graphic violence, etc... nobody bats an eye or closes an ear to those things, but Lord forbid we allow a team to be called the Washington Redskins. Sure, the supports of that stuff will say simply don't watch or listen, but I'd say the same thing for Redskins football.
Changing the name does nothing to counter the real issues Native Americans face on a daily basis. It doesn't clean up television, it doesn't stop bullying, violence against women, drug abuse, or alcoholism.

This has been all done before. Neither the NFL nor the Redskins ever lost money. This process will drag out for several years to come, so IF the decision is ever upheld by the courts, you're not looking at any money being lost anytime soon. I seriously doubt the Redskins losing their appeal.
