T.O. and Westbrook to sit out??

One year after signing a seven-year contract worth just over $46 million, Terrell Owens wants to rework his deal, Owens' new agent, Drew Rosenhaus, said after meeting with Eagles president Joe Banner. It is unlikely the Eagles will be willing to accommodate him. In Banner's 11 years as team president, he has never renegotiated a player's contract after one season. Rosenhaus did not rule out that Owens could miss some or all of the Eagles' off-season workouts or minicamps, and possibly training camp should a new deal not get done. "It's not really something I can make any predictions on," Rosenhaus said.

Running back Brian Westbrook, who also wants a long-term deal with the Eagles, hasn't signed his 1-year restricted free agent tender. Defensive tackle Hollis Thomas is unhappy that the Birds won't revisit his contract, and has asked to be traded. The Eagles are expected to trade or release wide receiver Freddie Mitchell, who was unhappy with his role last season.

Is anyone surprised? I mean I have nothing but contempt for the modern athelete, but man, I'm a little shocked by T.O's request. . .I wonder how true this is? Looks like B. Westbrook is unhappy as well.

I can't remember the details about T.Os contract but I do remember thinking he could have ask for more. Maybe he settled for less thinking thats all the birds would pay but they were going to win the S.B. Now that they did not win the S.B. and he has proven his worth to the team he wants more money. This could get alittle intresting over the next couple of months, maybe another Coles situation. I wish them all the tough times they can have with retaining their players.

I wish them all controversy, mayhem and a financial disaster of epic proportions.

I don't think the Eagles will budge with TO, Andy Reid is not going to let him dictate the direction of the team...I would bet they work something out with Westbrook. . .but don't forget Corey Simon wants out as well, so does the Hollis Thomas.. ..christmas in April.

Hell, let them restructure. Let them restructure to where they have to hemorrhage players in a season or two because of cap consequences.

The two most important words in this story are "Drew Rosenhaus". As I said in the thread regarding Taylor and Moss not being around for Skins voluntary workouts, Rosenhaus is trouble with a capital "T".

Just how many players does he represent? It seems like he is the Bill Gates of sports agents.

And here is hoping the e-girls, cowroids, and gints all reach greatly for their draft picks, and none pan out well!

Here is hoping the hole in cowroid stadium suddenly causes the Earth to crack and the whole stadium falls down! And all cowroids have to stay in maximum detention due to a problem at the probation office.

And the gints stadium collapses into the Bay. And each gint gets shrink wrapped!

And e-girls all demand a sex change to really become .................................................. ................................................gi rls! And andyreid resigns to work at Wallmart instead!

I'm sure the Eagles will try to take a tough stance and say "here's the contract you signed...so you'll play here or nowhere else!"

However, I think that's bs. I don't think they should rework TO's deal, but speaking in general, organizations don't give a damn about the ink on a contract when they want to sign an extra free agent and ask a guy to restructure. So, you reap what you sew.
