T.O. and Westbrook to sit out??Hog1 04-08-2005, 06:01 AM Welcome to the "NEW BREED" of team player. The Drew Rosenplayer PSUSkinsFan21 04-08-2005, 08:26 AM The Eagles did indeed let Trotter, Douglas and Emmons go. Interestingly, Trotter and Douglas were mediocre with the teams that spent big bucks to get them and are now back with the Eagles for FAR less than they asked for in the first place. And Emmons has been replaced by Dhani Jones without a humongous drop in effectiveness. So, maybe Joe Banner is a stubborn SOB; or maybe he and the coaching staff there are far more insightful into talent levels and team chemistry than most other teams? Hard to tell from afar... The handling of the TO situation may give us some clues here. Absolutely agree. I use the term "stubborn SOB" as a compliment here because he's a guy that won't pay anyone more than they are really worth. Period. He doesn't care what the name on the back of the jersey says......or at least he hasn't so far. Only time will tell I guess. And the word around Eagle-land is that the Simon deal is all but dead. He's probably not going anywhere........of course that could change by tomorrow. TheMalcolmConnection 04-08-2005, 08:31 AM Hopefully Gibbs can instill some of that kind of "hard-assedness" in Snyder. So far, it's working. He's a showing a little restraint. Drift Reality 04-08-2005, 09:09 AM Its funny how things can sometimes go full-circle. Weren't people spending so much time praising the eagles for being so fiscally responsible? Turns out they are treading the line between prudent and cheap because it seems like they have some grumbling pussies on their team now. redrock-skins 04-08-2005, 12:37 PM I'm sure the Eagles will try to take a tough stance and say "here's the contract you signed...so you'll play here or nowhere else!" However, I think that's bs. I don't think they should rework TO's deal, but speaking in general, organizations don't give a damn about the ink on a contract when they want to sign an extra free agent and ask a guy to restructure. So, you reap what you sew. I'm sure the Philly fans will be very receptive to T.O. if he sits out through training camp. Perhaps T.O. is tired of being cheered and want to take a WWE "heel" turn. skinsguy 04-08-2005, 02:53 PM I'm sure the Philly fans will be very receptive to T.O. if he sits out through training camp. LOL!!! :laughing2 SantanaMan 04-08-2005, 07:12 PM TO was fantastic last year and his play in the SB brought a new respect for the guy from me - but holding out for a new deal just 1 year in is rediculous!!! I won't lose any sleep the longer/messier the whole situation gets though. |
