Figured this as good a time as any to move away from the last one. We all know the name thing can drag on forever.

That said, I didn't see it mentioned anywhere that Jarius Byrd had back surgery (http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/11002023/new-orleans-saints-coach-sean-payton-says-safety-jairus-byrd-back-surgery-keep-training-camp) and I know Matty posted about TJ Ward getting charged with assault (http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000352984/article/tj-ward-charged-with-assault-disturbing-the-peace). Seems like they were two guys alot of fans wanted that we may now be glad that we didn't. Byrd got a whole lotta of money to play safety with back issues.

And does anyone know what the Redskins schedule in June is? I couldn't really find much on it, and know that it's not going to be a lot of exciting information.

Finally, for sake of making some level of discussion possible, which division or conference opponent's offseason has most interested you? I haven't seen many folly filled moments from the Cowboys, which you usually can count on them for. And the Eagles/Giants also both seem to just be a bit bland.

Giants got better, through both the draft and FA. Odell Beckham will be the new DeSean, i.e., the division rival that kills us twice a year. And with a better running game and improved OL, they should be a solid East contender for a few years yet(unless Eli goes back to his pick-slinging ways).

NFC East will be extremely interesting this year with 2 improved teams, Giants and Redskins; reigning champion Philly who didn't really get better but didn't get worse either; and Dallas, who should have a great offense, provided Dez and Romo stay healthy, but a terrible defense. Still probably the worst division in the NFL, but improved, IMO.

to early to call those signings bad imo. eagles fans could be saying the same thing about D Jax right now ....

the most interesting div rival to me this year will be all of them. i know its cliche but its true to me this year more than most since it seems everyone is even with questions marks w philly leading the opinion polls by a nose ...

now that i think about it .. i hope we stick it to philly twice this year more than the giants or boys.

In terms of Philly are you saying that the Sproles addition counter balances the loss of Jackson, or that Jackson's loss to them was of minimal impact?

I tend to think they got worse in two ways 1) at backup qb, instead of Vick - who was good as a backup, they have Sanchez and Barkley. That's quite a drop in talent in my opinion. and 2) the loss of Jackson. I don't really see that their draft or FA's pickups improved them significantly. And I love Sproles, but I don't see him and Shady being the type of two headed threat, but instead suitable substitutes for either. So no real gain in my opinion.

Losing Jackson was huge for them. There was an article posted on here that showed that Jackson had a long catch on the vast majority of the Eagles's scoring drives. The drives where he didn't have a catch very rarely resulted in points.

But he and Vick were the two biggest offseason losses, and they replaced those two with plenty of talent through both draft and FA. First of all for the receiving corps, they resigned Cooper, who's a solid receiver; then they drafted Jordan Matthews, who isn't as good or fast as Jackson but will put up solid numbers early, IMO; signed Sproles as you mentioned; and then they have Maclin returning from the ACL injury. Plus, they have the development of Zach Ertz to look forward to. So they don't have the explosiveness anymore that DJax offered, but make no mistake, they'll still put up points. On Vick: yeah, there's a chance Foles gets injured, but a backup QB isn't that big of a loss.

That's just on offense. On defense, they signed Malcolm Jenkins, who is now their best safety. Plus, they drafted Ed Reynolds and and still have Brandon Boykins in the slot, so their secondary will be improved. And most importantly, they drafted Marcus Smith, who was second in the nation in sacks, behind only our man Murphy.

In short, they lost one of their best players, but added some talent on both sides of the ball that pretty much made up for that huge loss.

Edit: Fixed the first paragraph for clarification purposes.
